Following up on
reports from June, the official Facebook page from Millenium Films is reporting that the next installment of the
Rambo franchise may begin filming sooner than many of us think.
The update came in response to a Facebook post on Friday that confirmed the news:
(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = “//connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js#xfbml=1”; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, ‘script’, ‘facebook-jssdk’));
A fifth installation has been in the works for sometime now, following the success of the 2008 film, Rambo, which continued the story of its battle-hardened war commando played by none other than longstanding tentpole action star, actor Sylvester Stallone. Further updates are also needed pertaining to the film’s TV show development regarding whether or not Stallone will venture into playing the character on the small screen. Nonetheless, the film will already have a plot by the time it begins its Shreveport, Louisiana shoot:
With ‘Rambo V’ Sylvester Stallone returns in his iconic role. This time he goes up against a Mexican cartel. Stallone, who has also written the screenplay, describes the new Rambo as his version of ‘No Country for Old Men.’ Like the last film, ‘Rambo V’ is produced by Avi Lerner (“The Expendables 1-3”)
Further casting and crewing still remain a tentative mystery, but the fact that the news comes just a week before Stallone’s next,
The Expendables 3, should be exciting for anyone following
@TheSlyStallone on Twitter (my guess is this where we should look to next).
Stallone is also reportedly involved in other films, including writer and director Ryan Coogler’s upcoming Rocky franchise spin-off, Creed, in addition to a possible hopeful fourth installment in The Expendables franchise.
Stay tuned.
