Screen Media Takes Antonio Banderas Actioner CODE NAME: BANSHEE For July Release

Antonio Banderas continues to hit a stride with action fans on a number of genre titles following The Expendables 3 and films like Security and Acts Of Vengeance.
This time he’s an assassin on the run in Jon Keeyes’ latest, Code Name: Banshee, which also stars Jamie King and has been selling as part of Red Sea Media’s international sales slate at the Cannes market this week. On Wednesday, Variety learned the film will now go to Screen Media for its U.S. release to be given a day-and-date theatrical and on-demand release in July.
Per Brent Lang’s report, “the film follows Caleb (Banderas), a former government assassin in hiding, who resurfaces when his protégé, the equally deadly killer known as Banshee (King), discovers a bounty has been placed on Caleb’s head. Tommy Flanagan co-stars as a mercenary, Anthony, who now seeking to collect said bounty, while Catherine Davis portrays Caleb’s daughter, Hailey.”
