‘Sicario 2’ Helmer In Talks To Direct An Adaptation Of CALL OF DUTY
Don’t cancel out director Stefano Sollima just yet. Current prospects following his upcoming summer sequel thriller, Sicario 2: Soldado, now have him in the throes of Activision Blizzard Studios according to Variety’s exclusive on Tuesday regarding efforts to adapt Call Of Duty to the big screen.
Negotiations are underway with Activision Blizzard Studios presidents Stacey Sher and Nick van Dyk producing along with Activision Blizzard chief executive Bobby Kotick. Development on the film could see potential cinematic universe appeal that could rival Marvel and DC if Sher gets her way, and wiyh Kieran Fitzgerald penning the script and shepherding the project with Sollima.
Call Of Duty has earned bookmark successes since 2003, releasing on multiple platforms through up to fourteen installments. The latest, Call Of Duty: WWII, arrived last November before selling record numbers and surpassing a billion dollars in sales earlier this year.
