STEEL RAIN 2: SUMMIT Gets A Final Trailer, And Angus McFadyen Needs Some Real F*ckin’ Ketchup!
Yang Woo-seok’s Steel Rain is currently on Netflix for anyone new to his 2017 live-action adaptation of the eponynous 2011 web comic. It comes recommended as the July 29 release date approaches for Lotte Entertainment’s upcoming sequel, Steel Rain 2: Summit, which rejoins Jung Woo-sung and Kwak Do-won for a new story that flips the script with a certain intrigue.
Per my previous overview, the sequel sees both actors in their respective characters – one promoted from the first film as South Korea’s president, and a North Korean official. The two come to a head in a North Korean submarine following a leaders’ nuclear summit between the U.S. and both Koreas which goes awry, and a coup d’etat ensues the kidnapping of several world leaders.
Also starring are Yoo Yeon-seok, and actor Angus MacFadyen who taps into his own incarnation as the President of the United States, with a seemingly boisterous portrayal that would certainly be too good to be true in more optimistic times. Scary.
