Arrow Films Acquires VIKING For U.K. Distribution!

Much like other big scale Russian film productions of late, director Andrey Kravchuk’s epic period action thriller, Viking, has often been the subject of question over wide release potential. The movie made for grand buzz for its local and CIS theatrical reception back in December with Danila Kozlovsky starring from a script by Kravchuk and scribes Andrey Rubanov and Viktor Smirnov, and grossing $25 million dollars for its run. This week, the latest report at Screendaily confirms the film will now gain entry in several more territories with Arrow Films nabbing the title for a UK release. Late last year was a real bookmark in my own observance on just how many people in Russia love their viking movies. The teaser for Andrey Kravchuk’s Viking delivered a rush of period epic thrills with fans more than enthused online to say the least, and so it’s finally time to bring this one all way for its release on December 29. If there were ever a more compelling, eye-catching promotional campaign for a film, it would be Andrey Kravchuk’s forthcoming epic, Viking. Last year’s teaser rose nothing short of pure, electric awareness of the new film for viewers – undoubtedly appealed by the sheer production value and quality overall. The set pieces were fanatstic as was the music score, and not really knowing full well the celebrity of lead actor, Hardcore Henry co-star Danila Kozlovsky, my guess is that the locals adore him, and clearly not for nothing. For this, the teaser was simply a phenomenal hit. Andrey Kravchuk's Trailer For VIKING Is An Opus Of Fire, Blood And Warfare

You have to give it to director Andrey Kravchuk this week. Having been in development for a few years and finally making sales rounds this past Spring and Summer, his latest endeavor, Viking is garnering some heavy attention ahead of its December 22 release in Russia next year. Based largely on 11th century East Slavic manuscripts, the film stars Danila Kozlovsky as a royal son who pairs with an old warrior to assemble an army and face the man who killed his father and older brother, his power-hungry younger brother. The trailer is online and viral via Russian media sites, emulating a dark and wintery setting, grim luster, raging viking warfare in a three-minute opus of pure fire, blood and vegeance with stunning visuals and drama. It’s pretty ambitious and fair that this would rightly be hard to pass up. Watch the trailer below!
