German martial arts action comedy, Plan B: Scheiss Auf Plan A, is getting an English language remake at Amazon Studios, with screenwriter Lucas Carter tapped to pen the script. What’s more is that Braden Aftergood and Sylvester Stallone are producing the film with Can Aydin executive producing. Directed by Ufuk Genc and Michael Popescu, the original film was an independent production which thankfully found its way to a theatrical release in Germany through 20th Century Fox in 2017. The film was a feature-length first for Aydin and his co-stars, all co-founding members of martial arts action stunt and film unit, Reel Deal Action, including Phong Giang and Yoon Cha-lee. The trio also appeared together in James Mark’s 2018 actioner, On The Ropes. Penned by Rafael Alberto Garciolo and also starring actor and dancer Eugene Boateng, Plan B: Scheiss Auf Plan A centered on a trio of aspiring action stars and […]
Industry stuntman and coordinator James Mark is finding his groove in the director’s chair since his sci-fi action debut, Kill Order. He’s back with a raft of heavy-hitters, burgeoning stars all their own with On The Ropes, featuring the very people that brought the stellar action and thrills in milestone German martial arts comedy, Plan B. Following the sudden death of their father, two brothers realize the greatest threat to their criminal empire might just be each other. A no holds barred battle for power ensues that threatens to destroy everything their old man built. On The Ropes stars Can Aydin, Phong Giang and Yoon Cha-Lee and is now available on DVD and VOD from Screen Media. I actually find it a bit troubling that this is getting such a quiet release. Plan B is also long overdue for a U.S. rollout as well apart from its avaiability overseas… Such […]
Getting a martial arts action picture off the ground these days is not easy. What helps, of course, is the initiative, talent and the necessary support base to further substantiate the demand for such a film and thankfully, it’s the kind of support that the folks over at German martial arts, stunt and film production group, Reel Deal Action, have been able to accumulate in the well over five-year period in which its members have been upscaling in the industry. Thus, having proved their worth in the feature arena (Skyfall, Big Game, Hitman: Agent 47, xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage) and with an array of action-packed shortfilms available online – some of which have earned a fair amount of acclaim among netizens and within the festival circuit (Evil Twin, Behind Every Great Man, Bad Choice), actors Can Aydin, Cha-Lee Yoon and Phong Giang are finally front and center as they […]
Germans clearly have the neatest kept facial hair…whereas I am long overdue for a weedwacker. Geezus (From L to R: Can, Yavuz, myself and Engin) If you were to tell me I would have not one, but two awesome days in a row this week in my meet and greets with stunt and film. professionals, I might have looked at you funny (while secretly wondering where you get your powers of clairvoyance from). Apparently that ended up being the case this past week when the second of two events occurred with my Friday night reunion with German action director, actor and Reel Deal Action co-founder Can Aydin during his second of two trips this year to New York City. This evening came just short of two years after I first met him in 2015 with Hollywood fight coordinator Jojo Eusebio; Both were in town as Eusebio was working on Dave […]
Glad I took my time in getting this Hit List together with all the videos and pics to display. Its been a busy week for me so I hope this will suffice. I should, right? As always, let’s start off with the usual assortment of fantastic stunt reels now available online. Reel Deal Action member, actor and stunt professional Can Aydin has been coming into his own for sometime now. His story is an amazing one and I had the distinct pleasure of meeting him last month as he was in the good company of friend and industry fight coordinator and stuntman Jonathan Eusebio. Aydin‘s body of work is currently poised to include his debut ensemble role with Reel Deal Action under directors Ufuk Genc and Michael Popescu for the upcoming milestone German martial arts action comedy, Plan B. Until then, you can currently his choreography and other stunt work […]
The first weekend of April this year was an excellent time for me. I got to meet up with a fellow movie friend to see Furious Seven on opening night, and what’s more, I got to meet up with two of the most awesome people anyone could hang out with, and it’s definitely another milestone I’ve set for myself as a film enthusiast. Honestly, you watch movies and you see the people in them, and you never suspect you will ever meet these guys in real life. But when it does, part of you feels most of its surrealness while the other parts of you settle with the fact that you’re in a room with said people and you need to compose yourself lest you hyperventilate or cause your head explode. Thankfully though, neither of those happened on the evening of Sunday, April 5 when I went to The Centurion […]
It’s a slow, but steady pace for the current post-production of the new martial arts caper comedy, once under the working title, 4 Gewinnt, from debut directors Ufuk Genc and Michael Popescu. The film marks the latest collaboration between post production studio, CineChromatix, Papermoon Films and German martial arts action performance and film troupe, Reel Deal Action, in a feature debut that sets its sights on delivering a promised tale of unyielding friendship, coupled with spectacular pound-for-pound comedy and raw martial arts action to boot, and all within the city of Berlin as its backdrop. A current sampling of this amazing footage can be found in an electrifying six-minute promo reel at German-language media broadcasting platform, Mitteldeutscher Rundfun, by CLICKING HERE. In the meantime, Film Combat Syndicate can exclusively report that Plan B will be the official title of the movie upon its release. Screenwriter Rafael Garciolo provided the script […]
Further updates are still pending as we await the 2015 release of the upcoming martial arts action comedy, Once Upon A Time In Berlin. Debut directors Ufuk Genç and Michael Popescu are spearheading the production as it looks to put Berlin on the map for the genre, thanks in large part to the longstanding efforts of German martial arts film and stunt troupe, Reel Deal Action, whose members, Can Aydin, Cha-Lee Yoon and Phong Giang will also be making their feature acting debuts to accompany their natural screenfighting caliber. Germany itself has been brewing with potential for sometime now, and luckily, Reel Deal Action has become a byproduct of the very support that has taken them this far, from making wonderful online action shorts to stepping it up in feature-length territory. You can learn all about their credentials and happenings via their official website, although rest assured, Reel Deal Action […]
The scene is heating up over in Monrovia, California for the upcoming festivities at this year’s tenth annual Action On Film International Film Festival. As such, many shortfilms and other projects that get made beforehand are held exclusively by their originators until they are finished circulating. That standard was since extended to Germany-based cinematic stunt team, Reel Deal Action, who have currently been busy working on a few feature films this year while circulating their newest action short festival favorite, Evil Twin, directed by Epicman Productions founder Christian Pfeil. Evil Twin centers on Reel Deal member, movie stuntman and actor Cha-Lee Yoon, who finds himself at an impasse with his own brother, played by Phong Giang. Upon entering, Yoon discovers his fellow cohort, bound and bloodied by his own evil twin (both played by Can Aydin), following the successful robbery of two technologically advanced stones that grant their owners the […]
The folks over at German independent filmmaking action troupe, Reel Deal Action, continue to live up to their brand, proven in their latest new upcoming shortfilm titled Evil Twin. Two new darly illustrious teaser trailers are now online, and while the first one grants a quieter, more dramatic tone, the second one delivers the goods that viewers are likely to expect: Tons of martial arts action, brutality, suspense, dramatic scenery, gunplay and empty pistol standoffs, all accompanied with a little sci-fi to boot. Evil Twin is the latest from Epicman Productions founder, writer, producer and independent film director Christian Pfeil, in collaboration with Reel Deal, Avenir, Cine Chromatics and Haeger Stunt, and is set to air on December 6, 2013. The upcoming shortfilm stars Cha-Lee Yoon, Can Aydin and Phong Giang, with Aydin and Pfeil directing the action. SYNOPSIS: The film begins at the end of a robbery. The main […]
