No details are available for season two, while it is known that Kitsch’s reprisal as […]

Armed with all the artillery he can gather and with the help of dauntless reporter Katie Buranek (Constance Wu), CIA Ground Operative and former SEAL and BUD/S classmate Ben Edwards (Taylor Kitsch) and private airline pilot and former U.S Army Officer Liz Riley (Tyner Rushing), Reece sets out to find answers, and make all those who benefitted from […]

Chris Pratt (Guardians Of The Galaxy/MCU, upcoming The Tomorrow War) and Wu Jing (Wolf Warrior franchise) are teaming up to headline a reimagining of Ken Ochiai’s 2016 action comedy, Saigon Bodyguards, for Universal Pictures. Thai Hoa and Kim Ly starred in the original film which was produced by Rhomhus Media and CJ Entertainment, and focused on two pals – polar opposites working as professional bodyguards who are assigned to protect a rich brat, only for the job to go completely downhill. The new film will be in the hands of Universal Pictures with Pratt and Jing starring from a script by Alex Gregory and Peter Huyck (What Men Want, HBO’s Veep). Pratt is producing through his Indivisible Productions banner, marking a reunion for both actors with powerhouse film duo Anthony and Joe Russo who had their hands on multiple titles within the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Pratt stars a […]
Chris Pratt is at the center of Hollywood’s attention with any hopes of another Guardians movie clamped down accordingly after the circus this past summer. After news of circling a new Taylor Sheridan pic, Paramount Pictures now wants him for The Saint. As Deadline writes, talks are underway and Lorenzo di Bonaventura is on board to produce a hopeful relaunch of the Simon Templar character – originally created by author Leslie Charteris in 1928. The books, about a debonair Robin Hood-like character who targets high-end criminals (corrupt politicians, warmongers, etc.) gained feature film fruition in the 1930s and onward, with actors like Roger Moore, Val Kilmer and Adam Rayner among the lot. There’s no director yet attached. More to come.
There are no setbacks for actor Chris Pratt who is now in discussions to star in Taylor Sheridan’s next venture according to Variety on Wednesday evening. Under the working title, Fast, the project centers on a special forces commando tapped by the DEA to lead a black-ops unit targeting drug dealers protected by the CIA. The move would be especially pivotal for Pratt following the fallout over the recently-shelved Guardians Of The Galaxy: Vol. 3 in what would have been the actor’s fourth Star-Lord reprisal in Disney’s MCU. Sheridan work continues to be celebrated stemming from screenwriting duties on 2016 crime opus, Sicario, and his riveting must-see 2017 directorial feature, Wind River. Sheridan is set to direct the tentatively titled Fast from his own script with David Heyman producing.
June 22 marks the release of J.A. Bayona’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. I’m kind of excited for this one having seen Colin Trevorrow’s film two summers ago in theaters which, frankly makes it my first theatrical foray into the franchise. It was also a little more fun than I predicted. I was never really keen on the initial trilogy as my tastes lied elsewhere, though I eventually caught them on home video. Alas, more then a decade later with Legendary and Universal placing their stake in Chris Pratt and a lovable CG raptor named Blue, I’m pretty curious as to where this story will go. Full info below preceds the final trailer now running online! It’s been four years since theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment. Isla Nublar now sits abandoned by humans while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the […]
There’s plenty to be thankful for in continued efforts to adapt Image Comics property, Cowboy Ninja Viking. That one is still moving forward at Universal and Deadline has the latest word on it that award-winning Breaking Bad EP, Michelle MacLaren has reportedly been ironing her own deal out with the studio to direct, and so it is. Craig Mazin’s updated draft from that of Zombieland scribes Paul Wernick and Everett David Reese is based on the 2009 publication from Image Comics via Shadowline; Created by writer A.J. Lieberman and artist Riley Rossmo, the new film will center on Pratt in the role of Duncan, the product of a government program that transforms people with multiple personality disorders into highly trained agents known as “Triplets”, who is forced to hunt down others like himself using his unique skillset highlit by his three distinct personalities: a cowboy, a ninja, and a viking. Pratt, who reunites […]

The project has moved from place to place since 2010 before ultimately landing at Universal Pictures. Pratt is […]
While Antoine Fuqua’s The Magnificent Seven is a remake of the 1960 film by the same name, I like to think of it as a direct reimagining of its original incarnation of Akira Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai from 1954. It bears noting that Kurosawa is, to this day, still Stephen Spielberg’s totemic inspiration behind his every endeavor, which calls to mind the question of how much that influences have made it into those films both thematically and narratively. I would say that the influence manifests like the whimsy of a film student’s interaction with the arguments that give sustenance to a story of camaraderie. A story like this one, especially, that arrives on contact with the bold charisma of a gunslinger. I’m calling it; if this sort of Western is an analog to another form of cinematic expression, it would be to anime a la Voltron or Gundam Wing – a […]

Follow comic book movie lore long and hard enough and you’re probably already aware of the potential prospects for director James Gunn’s Guardians Of The Galaxy: Vol. 2 which opens next May. Expected appearances by actors Kurt Russell and Sylvester Stallone aside, the cast is also expected to appear in the forthcoming Avengers: Infinity War and so forth, among other things, as per the 2014 film that saw our title characters take on an intergalactic supervillain with a purple Infinity Stone as their McGuffin. It’s one of several and all will play out with the eventual emergence of the evil Thanos, reprised once more by Josh Brolin. In the meantime, Gunn took to social media in Wednesday to unveil the latest teaser poster for the film which you can view below, with actress Karen Gillian to the far left followed by Michael Rooker as Yondu behind CG’d Rocket Racoon voiced […]
Michael Sheen has a f*cking robot uni-leg!… Yes, that and of course all else pertains to the core of multi-acclaimed filmmaker Morten Tyldum’s latest space romance opera, Passengers, which opens this December. It’s two people aboard a spaceship that gets screwed in the worst possible way amid what was supposed to be a long-term deep space hibernation for two people looking for life elsewhere among the stars. Calamity ensues, along with tons of suspense and thrills, and with Andy Garcia and Laurence Fishburne in the mix as well… ..But never mind that. Martin Sheen has robot uni-leg, and he headdesks the f*ck out of a bar countertop with his head and clears all in his path. Acting, ladies and gents, and funny as hell. SYNOPSIS: Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt are two passengers onboard a spaceship transporting them to a new life on another planet. The trip takes a deadly […]
If there was ever a director as of late who has compelled me more for a Western, it would be Antoine Fuqua. Thus, we get The Magnificent Seven with actor Denzel Washington leading the way for any and everyone still fond of last year’s The Equalizer and Washington’s Academy Awarded role in 2003’s Training Day. Rooted as a retelling of the classic Jim Sturges remake of Kurosawa Akira’s Seven Samurai, it’s also pretty rewarding for anyone who enjoys good old-fashioned tales of a ragtag band of grey-shaded heroes out to do good. And not for nothing either with fellow Fuqua cohort Ethan Hawke joined by everyone’s favorite raptor whisperer, Chris Pratt, and the beautiful Haley Bennett who looks like she’ll bring more than meets the eye here. SYNOPSIS: Director Antoine Fuqua brings his modern vision to a classic story in Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures’ and Columbia Pictures’ The Magnificent Seven. With the […]
