Sony Announces Development For A GHOSTBUSTERS Movieverse For Channing Tatum And Chris Pratt To Star
It took a bit of evolving in the course of a few hours, but the word is that actor Chris Pratt is possibly on deck to join Channing Tatum in their own all-male Ghostbusters film for Tatum to produce for Captain America: The Winter Soldier helmers Anthony and Joe Russo on board to direct with a script by Iron Man 3-scribe Drew Pearce. That film is being reported as one of four universal films conjoined by Paul Feig’s all-female Ghostbusters movie which is releasing in July of next year as both will tie in to a third followed by a fourth in the form a prequel.
These efforts come courtesy of the respective director and co-star of the original, Ivan Reitman and Dan Ackroyd who are now heading what THR cites as a “Ghost Corps” to help write and develop these films over at Sony while they plot a course for all four films. It’s actually funny to be honest; Hours earlier on Monday I was just speaking with my friend Keith Hayward about who the folks at DMG and Valiant would line-up to direct some of their films following their most recent announcement on Sunday night and I threw in the Russos’ as an option not knowing they would make more headlines this week. Silly me.
It took some effort as some of the headlines that were breaking had mildly misrepresented the facts by not mentioning there was a whole cinematic universe in the works a la Avengers, a fact Collider helped make clear via Badass Digest on Monday. Well, aside from last year’s e-mail leaks, at least we now have an update that confirms just what it is we’ll be in for, although I’m personally waiting for what lies ahead for Pratt and the Russos’, including their future with the MCU through 2019, in addition to Tatum’s Marvel debut as Gambit.
As for Sony’s Ghostbusters plans, let’s hope they don’t fall apart like their plans did for Amazing Spider-Man. So many moving pieces… *sigh*
Ethan Hawke May Reunite With 'Training Day' Cohorts For THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN
There’s something to be said about a certain type of project and the goodness it brings when all the right people come together. In 2000, that very project came in the form of the award-winning crooked cop thriller, Training Day, directed by Antoine Fuqua and starring Ethan Hawke and Denzel Washington.
Haley Bennett Reunites With Washington And Fuqua For THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN!
Last year’s go-around with the Denzel Washington/Antoine Fuqua hit pairing, The Equalizer, turned out some really amazing from its cast. One such performance came from supporting actress Haley Bennett who plays a friend to that of lead actress Chloe Grace Moretz in the story of a monastic former government operative whose fight for a young girl’s freedom from human traffickers turned into a sprawling one-man war against an entire criminal organization, and at the rate we’re going, we could very well see a sequel.
Before then, director Fuqua and our lead actor Washington are bound to rejoin for the production of The Magnificent Seven as of last June – a remake of the original 1960 classic western directed by John Sturges and starring Yul Brenner and Steve McQueen. Actor Chris Pratt was announced for a possible role in the film last December as well, and now, Deadline is reporting the film could very likely reunite Fuqua and Washington with actress Bennett for a leading role – a widow who hires a bounty hunter to avenge her husband’s death at the hands of a rutheless gold-mining baron, offering enough money to split seven ways with his men to get the job done.
As a noteworthy mention, Pratt‘s name is also one with major circulation in the year following his successful start at Marvel as Star Lord in Walt Disney Co.’s Guardians Of The Galaxy, with any number of roles now lining up in his direction, including Cowboy Ninja Viking and Friday’s Deadline report of his pick by Steven Spielberg for a reboot of Indiana Jones. Hopefully we’ll learn more about which will come first in the months ahead as 2015 grows itself into another busy and exciting year for movies!

JOHN WICK Duo, Stahelski And Leitch To Direct COWBOY NINJA VIKING For Universal
2014 was an immensely great year for actor Chris Pratt, and things are about to get even better. The actor is currently on par as a person of interest to reprise the role of Indiana Jones for a new feature film on top of returning to portray his winning role in director James Gunn’s forthcoming Marvel sequel, Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 and possibly getting a starring role in The Magnificent Seven remake alongside The Equalizer duo, helmer Anton Fuqua and actor Denzel Washington.
In addition, Pratt’s latest attachment came as of November last year for the lead role in the upcoming graphic novel adaptation, Cowboy Ninja Viking. Based on a 2009 publication from Image Comics via Shadowline, the film now aims to brings Pratt center stage in the role of Duncan, the product of a government program that transforms people with multiple personality disorders into highly trained agents known as “Triplets”, whereas he is now forced to hunt down others like himself using his unique skillset highlit by his three distinct personalities: a cowboy, a ninja, and a viking.
The source material here draws some immense appeal as Pratt has proven to be an actor worthy of taking on several dimensions on screen, so a role like this definitely suits him, and he’s more than likely on board. But what makes for an even better prospect is the fact that Universal Pictures is officially bringing action duo Chad Stathelski and David Leitch on board to direct. Stahelski and Leitch, both respected stunt coordinators and trainers, and founders of their own stunt training facility, 87Eleven Action Design in California, blew the lid off the film festival scene last year with their partnering directorial debut, John Wick, starring Keanu Reeves. The three are expected to partner again for Reeves’s forthcoming series, Rain, and updates are still pending, but rest assured, Universal Pictures has itself a mighty strong team on its hands.
Pratt will be back on the big screen this summer for Jurassic World on June 12, while John Wick is now available wherever movies are sold.

Chris Pratt To Star In COWBOY NINJA VIKING
Best known for his previous role in the hit TV series, Parks And Recreation, Wanted (2009) co-star Chris Pratt made a huge splash this summer with Marvel’s blockbuster surprise hit of the summer, Guardians Of The Galaxy. Well, things are about to get even better, now that the actor has since earned a favorable place among writers at GQ on their latest cover as Man Of The Year, in which case, hopefully it doesn’t get too crowded.
The official word from Collider dictates Pratt’s latest attachment for the lead role in the upcoming graphic novel adaptation, Cowboy Ninja Viking, a 2009 publication from Image Comics via Shadowline. Created by writer A.J. Lieberman and artist Riley Rossmo, the new film will center on Pratt in the role of Duncan, the product of a government program that transforms people with multiple personality disorders into highly trained agents known as “Triplets”, who is forced to hunt down others like himself using his unique skillset highlit by his three distinct personalities: a cowboy, a ninja, and a viking.
Universal has since picked up the project with producer Mark Gordon (untitled Steve Jobs biopic) attached to produce after it stayed in limbo with no movement from Disney after a draft of the script was complete prior to Quantum Of Solace helmer Marc Foster’s disinterest in directing. That said, casting and crewing is now underway while there is no further info yet on whether or not Pratt will portray all three of his personalities for his unified character, or if other actors will be attached.
In the meantime, Pratt is expected to appear in Colin Trevorrow’s Jurrasic World on June 12, 2015, in addition to reprising his role as “Star Lord” in James Gunn’s Marvel sequel, Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 on May 5, 2017.
Stick around!
