DUCHESS Takes Power Back In The Official Trailer

The first official trailer is now out for director Neil Marshall’s new action thriller, Duchess. Saban Films has acquired U.S. rights last October and a release is set for digital and VOD on August 9. Starring Charlotte Kirk who also penned the pic with Marshall, Duchess follows no-nonsense Scarlett Monaghan and her rise from a working-class petty criminal to becoming a ruthless organized crime leader in the seedy underbelly of the diamond smuggling circuit of Tenerife. Also starring are Philip Winchester, Sean Pertwee, Colm Meaney, and Stephanie Beacham. Collider debuted the trailer on Monday which you can now view below along with the official poster.

The first few stills are now out for Neil Marshall’s new action thriller, Duchess. Saban Films has acquired U.S. rights to the pic for a 2024 release, as announced on Thursday by Palisades Park Pictures CEO, Tamara Birkemoe. Starring Charlotte Kirk who also penned the pic with Marshall, Duchess follows no-nonsense Scarlett Monaghan (Kirk) and her rise from a working-class petty criminal to becoming a ruthless organized crime leader in the seedy underbelly of the diamond smuggling circuit of Tenerife. NIGHTSHADE: Neil Marshall, 108 Media Partner For Live-Action Supernatural Thriller Series

London/Singapore-based international content investment studio 108 Media will finance, co-develop, and produce the upcoming premium live-action supernatural action series, Nightshade. Neil Marshall (Dog Soldiers, The Descent, Hellboy, “Games of Thrones,” “Westworld,” “Timeless,” “Hannibal,” “Lost in Space,” “Constantine”) is teaming up with Simon Uttley, who conceptualized the world-building with Marshall. The two will serve as showrunners with Marshall directing the pilot, and are exec producing next to 108 Media’s Abhi Rastogi, Justin Deimen, and Rod Smith. Principal Photography is already underway in Hungary for Dog Soldiers and The Reckoning helmer Neil Marshall’s new film, The Lair. Set to star in the film are Jonathan Howard (Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World, Skylines, Warner Bros.’ Godzilla King of Monsters), Charlotte Kirk (The Reckoning, Warner Bros.’ Oceans Eight), and Jamie Bamber (UMC’s “Battlestar Galactica,” Cinemax’s “Strike Back,” 20th Century Fox’s Money), from a script by Marshall who is also exec producing. Neil Marshall (Hellboy, The Descent, The Reckoning, Dog Soldiers) is readying action horror thriller, The Lair, with Highland Film Group handling worldwide sales at the upcoming virtual AFM, launching Wednesday, November 4. Aimed as a return to his creature horror roots, The Lair centers on Kate Sinclair, a Royal Air Force pilot Lieutenant whose final flight mission sees her jet shot down over one of the most dangerous rebel strongholds of Afghanistan. After finding refuge in an abandoned underground bunker where deadly man-made biological, carnivorous half human/alien weapons are awakened, Sinclair barely escapes. It’s trailer day for Neil Marshall’s upcoming comic book adaptation, Hellboy, and yes, I was despondent and in mourning when we all learned Guillermo Del Toro wouldn’t be doing a threequel with Ron Perlman. I think after all said and done, we can pretty much rest our worries here; As much as we loved the 2004 and 2008 movies, at the very least, the official trailer now online and running jam-packed with energy, action and fun suggests that Marshall smartly tapped into the one thing that ought to pull some disenfranchised disbelievers back into the fray: Tone. Assuredly Hellboy fans have had time to deal with their grievances over not seeing a third Perlman/Del Toro offering. Frankly I think the excuses are bullshit myself and I share the frustrations, but the good news is that Lionsgate and director Neil Marshall have stayed steady for their focus on keeping the vibe going with some convicing set stills of David Harbour in full costume. The course is still being plotted for the forthcoming reboot, Hellboy: Rise Of The Blood Queen, as announced back in May. The production has its lead actor in Stranger Things series co-star David Harbour and casting has now confirmed its title villainess in actress Milla Jovovich. Plot details and specifics are not yet explicitly known while comic book origins detail the history of the Blood Queen with her first appearance in “The Wild Hunt”, the December 2008 publication of the Hellboy comic. Aron Coleite is adapting the screenplay from a previous draft by Andrew Cosby, Christopher Golden and Hellboy creator Mike Mignola for Neil Marshall (Centurion, The Descent) to direct. Neil Marshall, off the stellar successes of shows like Game Of Thrones and Black Sails, as well as films like post-apocalyptic actioner, Doomsday in 2008 and 2010 period thriller Centurion, is on board to direct the film for Applebox Entertainment. Actress Angelica Celaya came on my radar in the past year or so with the long awaited release of director Fernando Barreda Luna’s conceptual Grindhouse action short, Kiss Of Vengeance. Further updates are still developing on that end, although Celaya will soon find herself in the throes of a brewing war between the underworld and the living realm this Fall with her latest addition to the cast of the new NBC series, Constantine, based on the DC Comics property of the same name. Variety reports that Celaya will play the character Mary “Zed” Martin, who becomes John Constantine’s love interest as she joins him against the forces of darkness. Celaya’s announcement solidifies her role in place of actress Lucy Griffiths who will appear in the pilot, directed by Neil Marshall.
