PARASYTE: THE GREY Coming To Netflix

The world of Hitoshi Iwaaki’s popular sci-fi/horror manga Parasyte is returning to the screen, care of Korean director Yeon Sang-ho (Train to Busan, Psychokenesis)! Parasyte: The Grey has been announced to be in production exclusively for Netflix. Set in a world where human-eating alien parasites arrive on Earth and begin taking over their host’s brains, this new live action series takes place in Korea, with a brand new storyline and characters. Jeon So-nee (Jo Pil-ho: The Dawning Rage, Ghost Walk) leads the cast as Jeon Su-in, a parasite host. LOU Trailer: Allison Janney Hunts Down A Vicious Kidnapper

Underworld: Blood Wars helmer Anna Foerster’s latest thriller, Lou, is coming to Netflix beginning September 23, and I totally dropped the ball on the trailer when it arose yesterday so now’s as good a time as any to pick it back up. This one has Allison Janney and Jurnee Smollet starring opposite Logan Marshall Green, and the reactions have been amazing with Janney fully taking the mantle as the film’s grisled and tough-as-nails heroine. The biggest highlight thusfar appears to be Janney going toe-to-toe with captial action man Daniel Bernhardt of Atomic Blonde, Skylines and Nobody fame. And, well… we’re all here for it, amirite? Okay, it’s not necessarily an across-the-board universal truth or anything but I think we can all agree that there’s a degree of sameness to a lot of Netflix originals. That was my main concern going into “Day Shift”. Being J.J. Perry’s debut feature, I’m guessing a lot of people reading this had similar concerns about what could go wrong with this film. In my case, I’m confident in saying that my concerns were coming from a completely different place. I was concerned less as a fan of action films and moreso as a diehard fan of the vampire movie subgenre. NARCO-SAINTS: South Korean Crime Drama Sets Sights Overseas In The Official Series Trailer

Guns, drugs, zealotry, and violence are abound in the upcoming series, Narco-Saints, from showrunner Yoon Jong-bin. Debuting all six episodes on Netflix from September 9, the new crime drama series marks a reunion for Yoon with actor Ha Jung-woo who has starred in nearly all of Yoon’s films since 2005’s The Unforgiven. Narco-Saints follows an ordinary entrepreneur enlisted by the National Intelligence Service for a secret government mission to capture a Korean drug lord operating in South America. Yoon is joined by his The Spy Gone North co-writer Kwon Sung-hui in creating the series which is reportedly based on true events. COBRA KAI Season 5 Stills Tease The Return Of Another Familiar Face, And More!

Marking one month from the premiere date of the fifth season for hit series, Cobra Kai, new stills are online to view below including a few featuring the return of actor Sean Kanan back into the role of Mike Barnes from The Karate Kid: Part III, and the addition of actress Alicia Hannah-Kim debuting as South Korean sensei, Kim Da-Eun. Netflix Series SANTO: ‘Yakuza Princess’ Director’s New Crime Thriller Drama Series Premieres Next Month

Netflix is hailing the Spanish audiences with the latest look at Santo, the upcoming crime series debuting September 16 on the streamer. Produced by Nostromo Pictures and filmed between Spain and Brazil, Santo tells of two radically opposed cops, Cardona (Bruno Gagliasso) and Millán (Raúl Arévalo), will must learn to work together in order to survive while solving their latest, dangerous case involving an elusive drug trafficker whose face has never been revealed. The six-part crime procedural also stars Victoria Guerra, Greta Fernández, Luiz Felipe Lucas, and María Vázquez. Carlos López created the series for which Vicente Amorim, best known for A Divisão, Motorrad, and Magnet Releasing’s Yakuza Princess, serves as director.

As One and The King’s Case Note helmer Moon Hyun-sung is back in the habit after five years with his third and latest directorial effort now headed to Netflix with crime caper, Seoul Vibe. The film stars Yoo Ah-in (Veteran, The Voice Of Silence), and centers on a ragtag team of drivers and mechanics who go undercover to dismantle a massive money-laundering ring in the days leading up to the 1988 Seoul Olympics. CARRY ON: Jaume Collet-Serra To Direct Taron Egerton For New Netflix/Amblin Thriller

Netflix and Amblin Partners have announced the new thriller, Carry On, to be directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (Black Adam, Jungle Cruise, The Shallows) and starring Taron Egerton (Black Bird, Rocketman, Kingsman, Robin Hood). The film will be the first to get produced as part of the deal announced between the two companies last year. Written by TJ Fixman, with additional writing by Michael Green (Logan, Blade Runner 2049), the thriller centers around Ethan Kopek, a young TSA agent who gets blackmailed by a mysterious traveler to let a dangerous package slip through security and onto a Christmas Day flight. Dylan Clark will produce the film out of his Dylan Clark Productions banner. Exec producing are Holly Bario, Amblin’s President of Production who will oversee the project on behalf of the studio, as well Brian Williams via Dylan Clark Productions, Scott Greenberg and Seth William Meier.

Netflix is proudly announcing its acquisition of Australian animation studio, Animal Logic. The acquisition is expected to support Netflix’s ambitious animated film slate, building on films like Academy Award-nominated Over the Moon, Academy Award-nominated Klaus and the recently released The Sea Beast. The Sydney-based firm, co-founded by CEO Zareh Nalbandian, has been home to award-winning design, visual effects and animation for over thirty years, with a second studio in Vancouver, Canada as of 2015. Actors Jamie Foxx, Dave Franco and Snoop Dogg are front and center as we check out what’s to come in the new action horror thriller, Day Shift. The film marks a headlining debut at the helm for stunt professional J.J. Perry who is well into his craft as one of Hollywood’s most notable coordinators, choreographers and second unit directors. Jamie Foxx stars as a hard working blue collar dad who just wants to provide a good life for his quick-witted daughter, but his mundane San Fernando Valley pool cleaning job is a front for his real source of income, hunting and killing vampires as part of an international Union of vampire hunters.
