A quick search should familiarize you a bit with the centerpiece of director Roel Reiné’s newest effort. That now brings us to the official trailer for Line Of Fire [De Vuurlinie], starring Waldemar Torenstra and Sallie Harmsen in the story of a Dutch soldier forced to stare down an onslaught of controversy after being awarded 4th class knighthood in 2009. After having received the highest military award of the Netherlands, a court case, post-traumatic stress and the scorn of the political establishment, the media and the general public turn Marco Kroon’s life into an emotional rollercoaster. Which makes it hard to hide that he’s harbouring a secret. Reiné directs from a script by Alex van Galen. The film is produced by KeyFilm, AVRO, and FCCE, and by distro outlet Dutch FilmWorks. Iko Uwais is back and starring in Fistful Of Vengeance, per trade news making the rounds on Friday. The film is a standalone feature follow-up of Wu Assassins, as recently confirmed by Uwais himself in an episode of Scott Adkins’ The Art Of Action interview series. Per sites Variety and THR, rejoining Uwais are series one regulars Lewis Tan, Lawrence Kao, and JuJu Chan Szeto. Release dates are still pending for The Admiral helmer Roel Reiné’s new sword-and-shield epic, Redbad. The only thing that surprised me more than someone feeling the need to make a sequel to The Marine (there are now 3 sequels!) was that the review was actually positive; possibly even more positive than reviews of the first film. A lot of credit was heaped onto the film’s director, who had also directed a surprisingly decent Steven Seagal DTV actioner, Pistol Whipped.
