HARD TARGET 2: UNRATED EDITION Gets Plot, Release Details And More!

With martial arts action star Scott Adkins fresh into Marvel territory for Doctor Strange, it’s high time we learned a little more about what he’s been doing between this and finishing other upcoming hits like James Nunn’s Eliminators, William Kaufman’s Jarhead: The Siege and Isaac Florentine’s Boyka: Undisputed IV. Alas, save some extra room in between for Roel Reine’s latest, Hard Target 2 which has officially announced its completion in Thailand. Unfortunately the press release fails to mention actress and martial arts sensation Jeeja Yanin, but considering the updates she’s shared on social media I surely wouldn’t deny she’s in this one for its release in the Fall of next year. Is Jeeja Yanin Joining HARD TARGET 2?

An undisclosed period of time has since otherwise confirmed that actor and action star Scott Adkins will be leading The Admiral helmer Roel Reine‘s latest, Hard Target 2. There are currently no plot details as of yet aside from its shared roots with its 1993 predecessor having starred Jean-Claude Van Damme and acclaimed filmmaker John Woo at the helm, though it’s fairly nice to know that more information about it is now coming to pass. As such, it’s actress and martial arts star of Chocolate and Tom Yum Goong 2 fame, Jeeja Yanin, who is contributing to the buzz with a new behind-the-scenes rehearsal photo of her own for the film which Woo is also producing. At least one upside to a small-scale sequel is the potential to lend something grand to its worthiness for the targeted niche. Director James Nunn’s MMA fight drama, Green Street Hooligans: Underground, was my first foray into his work, and gladly it was a delightful debut at that. With that in mind, Nunn is back at it once again with martial arts star Scott Adkins for the new international action thriller, Eliminators, following the announcement back in April from WWE Studios and Tea Shop & Film Company, and short bursts of pics flowing through social media in the last few months with wrestler-turned-actor Wade Barrett also starring. Frankly, it’s pretty unfortunate that there are film distributors who don’t find certain film worthy of an audience beyond its local crowd. Keep that in mind when it comes to director Wych Kaosayanada‘s forthcomig U.S. release, Zero Tolerance, starring Dustin Nguyen and Scott Adkins. The film itself is a contemplative murder mystery at its very core, and judging by its latest trailer, it looks like there will be quite some promising action sequences marketable to U.S. consumers, although it doesn’t come without a bit of extra work. Many a debate have been had in the last five years over the fate of a fourth installment of Undisputed, a series of films that has since spawned from a Hollywood prison boxing drama to a franchise of films that have entrenched explicit fandom within the niche for actor and action star Scott Adkins in the role of devout modern day mixed martial arts warrior, Uri Boyka. To date, I haven’t seen either Lexi Alexander’s or Jesse V. Johnson’s previous installations of the Green Street franchise, and in that regard, it might service you to see those films before moving onto director James Nunn‘s 2014 offering, Green Street Hooligans: Underground. Granted, it’s only an option and not hugely necessary, and opinions might differ depending on how geared you are toward the first film, but this particular movie does plenty more for the kind of film it’s meant to be, apart from whatever expectations there may have been.
