Review: THE DEFENDERS Holds The Line For Future Shows

Netflix’s rollout of Marvel shows – Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage were all very exceptional shows. Despite their own sets of minimal technical flaws, all three programs delivered principal characters that fans could otherwise relate to on many levels, and with some neat action scenes to boot. And then came Iron Fist, a series whereby somewhere along the line, frankly, somebody dropped the ball. Indeed, I defended that show for the sake of giving it a chance, as well as actor Finn Jones who took so much heat from comic book fanboys for being cast as forbearing billionaire and rebirthed kung fu warrior, Danny Rand, that at one point, he left Twitter so he could focus on his work. THE DEFENDERS Final Trailer Pits Our Heroes Against Their Enemies, And Each Other!

The week has been a cruel mistress, so I plan on escaping a bit with tomorrow’s Netflix’s premieres, one of which include Marvel’s The Defenders. Spanning eight episodes and reviving most of the fans’ favorite characters, I’m eager to see how they’ve stepped up on the action and storytelling apart from the drama. I did skim a few reviews, one slightly less approving than the other but the word is that the show is a feasible entry into Netflix’s brand. All four titular programs featuring the headling cast – Charlie Cox (Daredevil) Kristen Ritter (Jessica Jones), Mike Colter (Luke Cage) and Finn Jones (Iron Fist) each have their respective seasons greenlit as does actor Jon Berenthal’s solo serial debut as The Punisher, and I’m committed to seeing how this evolves, especially after this trailer. THE DEFENDERS Hails A Coming War In The New Comic-Con Trailer

I was at a birthday party on Friday night. Not exactly the comic con scene but the evening well worth it, and I’m not too hung over to talk briefly about the latest trailer debut for Marvel’s The Defenders which premieres on August 18. Eight episodes and counting await us as actress Krysten Ritter, and actors Charlie Cox, Mike Colter and Finn Jones all reprise their roles next to actor Scott Glenn and actress Elodie Yung, and the addition of Sigoruney Weaver as she peers over the New York City skyline so as to affirm her villainous grip. Stan Lee Observes True Heroism In A New Promo For THE DEFENDERS And PUNISHER

At the age of 94, comic book auteur and mainstay Stan Lee is far from finished with his life’s work as he has a special tribute event called Extraordinary: Stan Lee coming next month. He also reportedly has up to fifty more comic book heroes that he hasn’t revealed yet and surely those announcements will come in due time. For now, he’s celebrating four of them in a new teaser for the upcoming August 18 premiere of The Defenders… or five if you count the guy in black who cameos at the end of the video for his own show to be dated soon. And count him you absolutely should!

Heroes Unite, Reluctantly, In The First Official Trailer For THE DEFENDERS

The fervor didn’t exactly rest easy earlier this year in all the debate over how to receive Netflix’s first season of Marvel’s Iron Fist. It wasn’t a perfect outing for the character as the fourth in a line-up of four for the popular streaming service and I’m sure it will be a deal to cover in the months leading up to a second season. Putting that aside, we finally have the first official trailer for The Defenders in which our heroes our aforementioned Finn Jones’s Iron Fist joining Charlie Cox’s Daredevil, Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones and Mike Colter’s Luke Cage. The work of building Marvel’s film and television universe continues for Netflix with the goal of inching further toward its much more grander ensemble series, The Defenders. For this, attendees at Comic Con International: San Diego got some fantastic news as did the rest of the internet with the announcement of a third season of the Charlie Cox-led Daredevil, as well as the first teaser poster and footage of Iron Fist starring Finn Jones. All three of these are expected to arrive by next year while we also await news on the second season of Jessica Jones with Krysten Ritter and the upcoming first season of The Punisher with Daredevil S2 co-star Jon Bernthal. We’re a little over than five months away from the Netflix series premiere of Marvel’s Luke Cage which is now in post production, and with a little while longer to go until we hear from the second season of Jessica Jones and actor Finn Jones’s Marvel debut as Iron Fist. Keep this in mind as the subscription video service recently launched its second exclusive season of Daredevil, and with great success and fervor from fans who have already drawn attention to other series prospects such as a Punisher or an Elektra series. You might argue that Mark Steven Johnson’s take on Marvel’s own ‘The Man Without Fear’ in 2003 didn’t really live up to the expectations many. Point in fact, there’s obviously plenty of ire to go around considering there was never a sequel. Alas, we now have executive producer and showrunner Steven DeKnight now handling things for Netflix’s own offering for the classic Marvel character, Daredevil with lead actor Charlie Cox starring opposite Vincent D’Onofrio‘s attribution to the villainous Wilson Fisk, a.k.a.
