This week’s installment of The Hit List brings some stunning and inventive surprises…particularly if you’re a fan of 8-bit game lore, kung fu, power rangers and Johnny Cash. You read that last one correctly!

I’ve written all this on three hours of sleep after an awesome Saturday evening. Still in recovery, yes, but nonetheless willing and able to keep the Hit List action going for another week! And so it goes with another round of reels and demos from some of today’s top and emerging stunt talents. Megan Hui out in Canada leads off followed of by reels from Sam Symons, Andre Da Silva, Julie Elizabeth, Troy Faruk, Kawui Joa, Bethel Lindsey, Anthony Giovanni Elias, Deineka Pavlo, Jannelle Beaudry, Jennifer Li, Johnathan Henry, Jason Truong, Chelsea Goldsmith, April Taft, Branden Arnold, Keanu Lam and Caitlyn Grace, with reels courtesy of Reuben Langdon and over in Denmark with Joon Poore’s JP Stunts. Time for just a few promo vids and the first comes from James Couche who recently kicked off a new Indiegogo campaign to provide funds for his next project, Fallen Blade, which you […]
Managed to get a few things done this weekend including enjoying a few others screeners – one for a film that was supposed to be out this month but will be releasing this Fall instead and I’ll bring some news about that in the weeks ahead. Until then, it’s time for The Hit List and if you know what The Hit List is, then you know what you’re in for. For the newbies, by all means! Follow along and firstly enjoy this week’s playlist of rousing stunt performance and professional reels to whet the appetite, courtesy of actress Sarah Chang, Patrick Phan, Brandon Shaw, Wei Hsin Lee, Nick Fisher, Robert Bennett, Bronte Coluccio, Sean Chase, Curtis Braconnier, Melodie Veillard, Sam Akel, and as of this month, the Seattle’s International Stunt Institute’s own Alec Tillett! Promotional gems are few this week but look great thusfar with a few pics you can […]
Well, I didn’t think I’d make it this week for another installment of the Hit List. It doesn’t undercut the amount of content still forthcoming, especially with San Diego Comic-Con inbound so… looks like it’ll be another full plate this season. As for now, our weekly entree of inspired action and stunt feats begins as usual with a healthy appetizer of demo reels from some of today’s best and brightest stunt performers. Pat Chu gave us something to gaze at last week in a supercool fight video and he now makes his return to the Hit List with his latest stunt reel, followed by selections from Justin Howell (click here to check it out), Andrew Nadanyi (click here to check it out), Nik Pelekai, Erin Wu, Simon Li, Danny Rowe, Kimberly Root, David Lavallee Jr., Jordan Okubo, Alexey Chagai, Alex-Marshall Brown and fight choreographer Tolga Degirmen. This week in trailer news brings a […]

My weekend was a total blank so any weekend fun will have to wait until further notice. The Sense8 finale was great though and I highly recommend it. TOP: Vanessa Cater, Nick Clapuci, Brendon Huor, Cameron Early, Taylor Krasne Bott: Rustic B., Gee “Lil’ Bomb” Jay, Marie Fink, Wilson Sze, Jon Alagoa The Hit List, however, remains priority this week and so it goes with a nifty round of the latest reels from some of today’s best and burgeoning action actors and stunt performers, starting with Blindsided: The Game star Eric Jacobus who just rolled out his latest reel on Monday via Vimeo. Following that is a playlist comprised of reels from Marie Fink, Rustic Bodomov (a.k.a. Rustic B.), Glenn Chow, Joshua Romeo, Thomas Watson, Jen Bennett, Cameron Early, Wilson Sze, Alexander Kushch, Taylor Krasne, Spencer Davis, Kyle Murillo, Chad Mason, Vanessa Cater and co-star of the newly released action thriller, The […]
My energy level was sputtering all weekend. I had some much needed fun though and got to decompress and meet some new and beautiful people. Happy start to my summer. L to R (top): Masami Kosaka, J.C. Leuyer, Sadiqua Bynum, Cyrus Leisy, Bobby Nickels L to R (bottom): Sonalii Castillo, Peter Syckelmoore, Seydina Balde, Frans Steyn, Sarah Chang I’m also where the independent action and stunts are as we commence with this week’s return of the Hit List after a period of catching up and a little more rest in between. We begin with the familiar name of Judit Szvia and I couldn’t be more proud to start her at the top of this week’s playlist of stunt and athetic reels followed by contributions from Ryan Robertson, Darin Hicks, Cyrus Leisy, Peter Syckelmoore, Sadqiua Bynum, Frans Steyn, Robert Linden, Lexter Santana and J.C. Leuyer. Promotional items are quite a handful […]
I’ve recently put The Hit List to temporary rest but I still have my eye on certain individual projects and gems hailing from the auspices of DC Stunt Coalition. On the feature film front however, I’m also definitely looking forward to whatever lies ahead in the coming months, and Johnny Z is certainly one of them. Billed as an action horror feature that nods to films like Land Of The Dead and The Raid, the project hails from a concept pitched earlier on through crowdsourcing with Johnathan Straiton directing from Black Mandala and Hurricane Bridge Entertainment. The latest update being offered now lends us a clear look at actor and martial artist Felix Cortes who plays a martial arts master sought by one of his pupils, a half-human zombie seeking vengeance on the evil corporation that created him. Actor Michael Merchant leads the film with David McMahon, Jason Delgado, Elle Church […]
I almost spent my Sunday lingering which I felt like doing frankly, but this week’s Hit List needed to get going before long because I just know things are going to pile up like they did this past week and I really need to catch up. Needless to say, this will be the last Hit List installment until June 4 when we return with the usual round of exciting stunt and independent shortfilm content hitting the internets! L to R (top): Tazito Garcia, David William No, Thekla Hutyrova, Hayden Lam, Jonathan EusebioL to R (bottom): Dylan Rampulla, Luis Fernandez, Peter Jang, Dmitrious Bistrevsky, Veto Swarn The incredible, nimble actor and martial artist Andy Le gets things started in electric fashion with a training reel hailing Martial Club’s best, followed by Thekla Hutyrova, Luis Fernandez, Dylan Rampulla, Fernando Campos, Kiara Nowlin, Hawk Walts, János Bognár, Dmitrious Bistrevsky, Amanda Dellapenta and Bayland Kippenkroger. […]
It’s been another loaded weekend for me so save for sleep, preferred R&R has been nil – although news out of Cannes and other updates pretty much kept me on my toes… or typing thumbs. Whatever you wanna call them, I suppose! L to R (top): Matt Emig, Amy Schumacher, Eric Jacobus, Kawui Joa, Cameron Early L to R (bottom): Luis Fernandez, Xavier Luo, Braxton McAllister, Talyn Edelson, Kyle Potter Time to feast once more on another weekly installment of The Hit List, starting with another stimulating round of stunt reels to get the juices going and as such, Matt Emig does so accordingly with his own reel to kick off the first playlist. Rounding it all out are reels courtesy of Braxton and Michaela McAllister, Cameron Early, Siamak Samie, Jan Znidarsic, John Nania, Joshua Walters, Shawna West, Gabriel Baxter and Jesse Jacobson, and a hard-hitting fight choreography reel by […]
I can’t say much about my weekend. Really it wasn’t one – lots of work to be done and little time for R&R, frankly. The anime catch-up with SAO: GGO and Fist Of The Blue Sky: Regenesis was nice though. From L to R (top): Jefferson Lewis III, Christos Dante, Hope LaVelle, Arman Ansari, Johnny Gao L to R (bottom): Michelle Jubilee Gonzalez, Donte Walker, Terence Julien, Kawui Joa, Megan Hui As always, I left some room for The Hit List and we begin with the essentials starting with a raft of stunt reels from today’s stunt talents beginning with the high-diving antics of Malin Kirjonen, the harpooning fight scene badassery of Peter Jang and Cobra Kai fall guy Noah Bain Garrett, followed by more stunt profusion with Anthony Rodriguez, Jackson Rosario, Kawui Joa, Mollie Wilson, Joseph Roark, Bryan Dodds, Mohammed J. Ali, Ted Alderman and stunt coordinator Tyler Hall. […]
Well, it’s been a weekend for anyone and everyone who’s been to the movies to see Avengers: Infinity War. My time won’t be for another week though, so I definitely made some use of the time I had while at work. L to R (top): Cassandra Ebner, David Lavallee Jr., Ming Na-Wen, Cameron Early, Lee Chesley L to R (bottom): Alex Hashioka, Michelle Rodriguez, Anthony Hoang, Brea Schneider, Jason Cavalier And thus, it’s another week and another chapter as The Hit List rolls on with playlists of stunt and training reels, promotional goods and short film goods from some of today’s curious and gifted in creating action on film, and not for nothing either. Stuntwoman and B-girl Lee Chesley gets our first playlist started with her latest reel followed by Ricky Lawson, Kaanchana Kerr, Patrick Schmeikal, R.J. Howard, Sadiqua Bynum, Daniel Elman, Brea Schneider and Olivier Lunardi. Rounding out the […]
L to R: Luis Candelario, Krystal “Honey” Pizarro, Nicholas Ortiz, Christopher Montague, Grace Rivera, Hector Soria Deep in the deluge of all the online action shortfilms you can find, there’s a ample number of beginners who are either just starting or have quite a ways to go. At the end of the day though, its desired effect upon delivery rests on a handful of key factors – most prolifically being a director who knows and understands the genre, as well as the mechanics that entail. Nicholas Ortiz, born and raised in the Bronx in New York City, comes from that very comprehensive DNA, instilled long before Blockbuster outlets became a thing, and engrained with an inherent interest in household movie favorites – bookended by an action horror comedy classic. “My cousin Jeppy walked into her living room with a tape in her hand and said ‘You guys need to see […]
There is a LOT to sift through this week with the Hit List. I almost thought I wouldn’t be able to make it because of all the content and information I managed to come across but I think I accomplished a little something-something! L to R (top): Joanna Ke, Kyle Murillo, Ruben Maldonado, Jason Elwood Hanna, Cassandra Ebner L to R (bottom): Nik Pelekai, Aline Mayne, John Soares, Erin Haus, Johnny Gao As always, it’s another round of energizing stunt, training and performance reels by some of today’s amazing creatives and up-and-coming professionals. John Soares was a terrific find for me in the last few years with the long-awaited release of feature steampunk sci-fi, The Danger Element. He starts off the week followed by cosplayer and actress Erin Haus who has certainly earned a rightful place in the Hit List a few times in recent history, and you’re more than […]
I’m pondering taking next weekend off for the Hit List. As it stands I have a few screeners that need screening and reviewing and I haven’t at all had the time for them. Plus, a little extra time for myself would be spiffy. L to R (top): Adele Elasmar, Marrese Crump, Amber Lamarca, Troy Butler, Amy Johnston L to R (bottom): Noel Schefflin, Monique Ganderton, John Wood, Niahlah Hope, Timothy Eulich Of course, all that could change depending on the content of the coming week and if it’s too good to hold back, you can expect another entry online stunts and hits. For now, its the 16th of April and back hand-springing in her element is stuntwoman Niahlah Hope for the inaugural reel of this week’s stunt playlist. Rounding it all out are reels by Max Laferriere, Thaddeus McQueen, John Wood, Amber Lamarca, Ivan Kasnyov, Nakamura Koji, Bryan Dodds, Beni […]
Honestly, if it were up to me, I would have stayed in bed, Netflixing and sleeping this past weekend. (Sigh…) If only, right?… L to R (top): Glenn Somera, Geoffrey Boggs, Alex Marshall-Brown, Zak Self, Branden Arnold L to R (bottom): Megan Le, Darin Hemmer, Darin Hicks, Temujin Shirzada, Leandro Mayor Martinez At any rate, another week is upon us and once more, we’re back to highlighting some of today’s top and rising talent in stunts and action with another installment of the Hit List. Battle B-Boy co-star Megan Le tops this week’s playlist with a fitting track from Frankie Valli and the Four Season that had me dancing in my seat. Following that are reels from Eric C. Sun, Zak Self, Kai Fung Rieck, Eddie JY Lee, Andrew Long, Sarah Schulte, Andrew Nadanyi, Anna Yosin, Jim Ellason, Miyashiki Akio, Jonathan Yurco, Kellie Victoria Scarangello, Narayan Cabral, Sher Juraev, and […]

From L to R (top): Chris Silcox, Jasmine Wright, Gui DaSilva, Lea Catania and Justin Carney L to R (bottom): Tennison Barry III, Mason Davis, Margaryta Soltatova, Kabelo Chalatsane and Jonathan Last Cutting through the fluff, we’re gonna go straight to the goods with Kabelo Chalatsane warming up this week’s stunt playlist with an extensive new reel of his work. The playlist finishes up with reels by Amanda Cook, Margaryta Soldatova, Ben Rezendes, Rosslyn Luke, Daisy Fryer, Tennison Barry III, Karleena Gore, Hailey Jackson and Travis Gomez, and Circomedia’s own Jonathan Last, joined by second and third year pupils while out and about and turning the streets of Bristol upside down with love! This week is a special one, if not the start of an exciting interval […]
This week’s Hit List has opened my eyes to a few gems I am strongly curious about, and I hope to learn more in the nearest future after this.
