As Mike Fleming Jr. notes, the news comes just as the two sibs, founders of their AGBO label, inked a deal with MGM and officiated “a multi-film non-exclusive creative partnership to co-develop, co-produce and co-finance a slate of projects” from the MGM library. DHAKA: Sam Hargrave To Debut Direct Chris Hemsworth Kidnap/Rescue Thriller
Today in stunt professionals taking the mantle, Thursday’s report from Deadline confirms India kidnap/extraction drama, Dhaka, to be filmed in India and Thailand for Netflix. Relatively known as Thor, MCU franchise star, actor Chris Hemsworth will lead the action thriller that tells of an emotional coward who comes to terms with his sense of self to liberate a kidnapped Indian boy. Hargrave fits right in the mold next to some of today’s best and brightest talents in stunts and film, getting his start years ago with a training team of his own called Reel Kick, to climbing the ladder, performing and doubling for actors on set, to now shepherding major action sequences on some of today’s biggest films – namely including The Hunger Games franchise, both Captain America and Avengers titles of late, Atomic […]

The Russos Are Coming Out To Play With THE WARRIORS For Television
If there were ever a moment in film history where the process of remaking any particular film would have been unhindered, those days are long gone. Walter Hill’s 1979 classic, The Warriors, is certainly an example having made movie history and standing the test of time through cult fan support, and as such, a remake had been in-bound for well over a decade with the film passing through several hands – the last being Mark Neveldine as of last year. That said, we’re in a new era as of late with a viewing demographic that has grown ever cautious in some parts over Hollywood remakes of anything, and so who knows what will happen next for The Warriors and its future on the big screen? All we know now and can say for certain is that its prospects now lie on television with word from Deadline reporting that the Russo […]
REVIEW: CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR – What, Are We Supposed To Be Cool Now?
I should mention right out of the blocks why I chose the above title for this review. It is a nod to a scene in the movie that, I will swear upon at gunpoint, was a last minute reshoot to directly poke fun at Zack Snyder’s poorly received Batman V Superman: This Is Seriously The Title They Stuck With. You’ll have to see both films to get the joke, provided you’re not already keen to it by the flood of social media memes on the topic. Why Captain America: Civil War is comparable to BvS is the themes. Both films are an approximation of America’s kaiju, specifically the kaiju eiga, our “movie monster” representation of the ongoing conversation on the consequences of 9/11, with BvS being the solipsistic nihilist’s handbook on the subject while Cap 3 holds upon its shoulders the heavier idealistic volume. And the audience has spoken its […]
