Venturing into his third feature, actor and filmmaker Vincent Soberano has rolled out the official trailer for supernatural thriller, Circle Of Bones.
A March 2020 release has been set for actor and director Vincent Soberano’s latest action horror, Blood Hunters: Rise Of The Hybrids. TriCoast Entertainment officially announced its acquisition this week and is launching world sales at AFM.
Inarguably, the past three years have been pretty bustling for actor and filmmaker Vincent Soberano. The relatively known MMA trailblazer and Muay Thai expert began breaking into film notably around 2015 with sea life doc, On The Brink, and evidently segued into narrative cinema shortly thereafter.
The next several weeks will assure some more coverage from fellow niche sites in lieu of actor and director Vincent Soberano’s new martial arts thriller, The Trigonal. Viva Films has dibs on its local release in the Philippines and has since begun its final string of promotional rounds with the first of several countdown trailers leading up to its September 26 release.
EXCLUSIVE: The bustling career path faced by actor, martial artist and filmmaker Vincent Soberano is one that seems to have been continually ripe at nearly every turn in the past two years. Several films completed in his wake and with more in tow with partnerships currently in bloom, he is well on his way into the summer film festival season with a momentous brand that moviegoers and action fans will be very keen on in the coming months if not already.
Further details are still pending following the news we broke last month for upcoming thriller, No Man’s Waters and romantic action comedy, Three Poles, but keep these titles in mind as we now look toward the forthcoming release of Soberano’s new tournament action thriller, The Trigonal. Actor and martial artist Ian Ignacio leads the film among a raft of screen talents comprising the story of a retired martial arts champion forced to step in the ring once more when his wife and best friend fall victim to the wills of an international crime syndicate invaded his small idyllic town to launch an illegal underground fighting circuit.
The film’s campaign has been on a slow and steady rollout with at least six mini-teasers introducing our cast of characters which also include actress Rhian Ramos, actor Christian Vazquez, and multi-faceted actress Sarah Chang who also serves as the film’s fight choreographer; also starring are Levi Ignacio and Monsour Del Rosario, along with UFC contender Li JingLiang, Leigh Guda, Wu Pei Xu, Jakab Goldin and Australian actor Paul Allica. As of early Monday at 10am (Manila time), Film Combat Syndicate is more than pleased to present an exclusive look at the official trailer while Soberano and his team at Cinefenio proudly gear up for a Cannes premiere on May 9 ahead of its release in the Philippines.

EXCLUSIVE: Muay Thai champion and emerging film multi-hyphenate, actor Vincent Soberano is on deck to add to his directing repetoire with least two big-budget films going forward: Action-packed high-seas military/naval techno-thriller, No Man’s Waters, and romantic action comedy, Three Poles. The films will hail from Soberano’s Cinefenio Film Studios, designated as co-productions with Origin Pictures Beijing, and a South Korean production company with the Philippines serving as a major production location with local film crews to be hired.
The news comes in the wake of a robust week for the Filipino filmmaker whose business in Beijing saw him host screenings for his two recently-completed titles, tournament revenge action thriller The Trigonal, and dystopian survival novel adaptation, We Are War. Both were showcased for a rousing audience of major distrubutors and executives, adding to a growing list of career milestone ‘firsts’ for a Filipino filmmaker, his latest deal with Origin Pictures Beijing and companies to be announced adding to the list of his accomplishments.
Among those in attendance for the screenings partly includes actress, martial artist and fight choreographer Sarah Chang, Soberano’s mentor, action director and fellow Jackie Chan cohort He Jun and Altered Carbon series co-star and upcoming Skyscraper co-star, actor and film producer Byron Mann. Author Ruben Payan Jr., whose 2016 novel, “We Are”, served as the basis for Soberano’s We Are War, was also on hand next to co-stars Chuck Johnson (Death Trance) and actor Liang Shih who works as producer and head of development at Village Roadshow Asia.
Most of the contract dealings are still being discussed as Soberano now focuses on matters pertaining to next week’s business at the 2018 edition of the HK Filmart. Soberano is currently commissioned to shepherd initial writing duties for No Man’s Waters and Three Poles as development and funding commences in May.
As expected, films like Blood Hunters: Rise Of The Hybrids and The Trigonal won’t be the last we hear from director and actor Vincent Soberano. The emerging film talent on both sides of the lens is now taking an even greater stage in recent days with his work now central to the attention of a number of industry figures, one of which enlists his latest thriller, We Are War.
The film takes its cues from the work of writer and author Ruben Payan Jr. for a film set in 2029 as world governments collapse, and remnants of military might are deployed to Japan to seize control and ownership of what little remains of the world’s purest natural resource: water. Soberano stars and is also joined by Liang Shih and Death Trance co-star Chuck Johnson.
Other news is seldom known about the film other than what we get to see with the earliest artwork, in addition to a first trailer which stops nothing short of impressive and as thrilling as one would hope for an actioner. It’s a stirring week in Beijing for Soberano as his films now line up for some much needed profusion this week, including We Are War for which its trailer is available just below.

Ignacio, who appears and Soberano’s upcoming Blood Hunters: Rise Of The Hybrids, currently has a few noteworthy credits among those listed while The Trigonal certainly serves as a potential continuation of the local action genre revival in wake of films like Nilalang and Erik Matti’s upcoming BuyBust. It’s a credible prospect for Soberano whose Best Short Film award at the Urban Action Showcase & Expo for his Blood Hunters proof of concept helped pave the way for the feature film it is now.

The film’s title itself is a word that stems from stick fighting in Filipino martial arts, one that no less speaks highly to Soberano’s contined goal of bringing FMA to the forefront of action by next year as there are already a few films brewing in the action genre in the region. Headlining are Soberano in reunion with several Blood Hunters cast, including actor Ian Ignacio for a story centered on a downtrodden MMA champion who journeys into the world of underground fighting to take down an elusive drug lord.
EXCLUSIVE: Currently in post production is the new Filipino action horror, Blood Hunters, from documentary filmmaker, Muay Thai champion and debut director Vincent Soberano. The film is the latest advancement of the proof-of-concept short of the same name for which Soberano won Best Short Film at the Urban Action Showcase and Expo in New York City last November prior to acquiring funding.
Poised as an English-language pic with international appeal, the film centers on a team of mercenaries assigned to battle swarms of hybrid, vampiric creatures and hunt down their Queen in order to harness her blood to prevent an Aswang apocalypse. Soberano also makes his lead acting debut in the movie from his own script in addition to designing some of the action, provided in part with Filipino Martial Arts (FMA) serving as the bedrock for most of the film’s fight sequences by choreographer Revirick Jocson and action director Jeff Centauri who last assisted stunt director Sonny Sison on Pedring Lopez’s Nilalang.
The martial arts heavy cast includes USA-born actress Sarah Chang, local Hall Of Famer Levy Ignacio and son Ian T. Ignacio, and longstanding action star and Makati congressman Monsour Del Rosario (Bloodfist 2, The Hunt For Eagle One) in his latest return to film. Joining in as the principal antagonists are former fitness instructor, actress Mayling Ng (Lady Bloodfight, Wonder Woman) who stars as the aforementioned Queen, Maya, along with actor and martial artist Temujin Shirzada as Naga.
Topping out the cast will be a spate of cameos from notable FMA Grandmasters, including Sr. Grandmasters Vicente R. Sanchez and Patrick Jason P. Balos, and Grandmasters Henry Espera, Ronaldo Baxafra and Arnold Narzo.
Production commenced on February 15 this year and subsequently wrapped on March 7 with an official teaser now en route along with some hopeful acquisition and distribution news before long.
