AFFD XVIII: Inuyashiki, Miss Baek, Fly By Night, Samurai Marathon, Zombie Parties And SO Much More Fun Starting Tonight!

The 18th annual Asian Film Festival of Dallas kicks off as of today through July 25 with a tasty raft of titles. Lee Min-Jae’s undead rural comedy, The Odd Family: Zombie On Sale, is poised to launch this year’s events, screening at the Angelika Film Center (Mockingbird Station) at 7pm, followed by a zombie-themed party at AKAI, a speakeasy inside Musume, located in the Arts District. DEAD SNOW 2 Will Rise From Its Grave In North America Soon!

Writer and director Tommy Wirkola will wrap up the screening slate for his newest film, Dead Snow: Red Vs. Dead this Friday at midnight. However, fans of zombie action and horror will be pleased to learn that Well Go USA has acquired the North American rights to the Norweigian bilingual follow-up film, which they will distribute theatrically entirely in English-language with a release date now pending. The film is the latest collaboration between XYZ Films, Tappeluft and The Fyzz, and follows up the events from its 2009 predecessor, actors and co-writers Vegar Hoel and Stig Frode Henriksen returning for the sequel which now sees its lead character, Martin (Hoel) back and ready to brawl with undead Nazi scum, with a littlen extra help. Knights Battle The Zombie Apocalypse In The New Trailer For KNIGHT OF THE DEAD

2014 will see the release of writer/director Mark Atkins’s upcoming period fantasy zombie swordplay action horror adventure, Knight Of The Dead. The guys over at The Action Elite were contacted recently by actor Jason Beeston who stars in the film along with Dylan Jones, Lee Bennett, and Vivien Vilela. The film is based on a screenplay co-written by Jeffrey Giles, featuring a genre-bending, gory, sword-wielding, bonecrushing and zombie killing thriller that takes everything you love about knights and chivalry, and feeds it to the zombie army waiting behind your backdoor.
