THE ODYSSEY: Sleeping Giants Awaken In The Official Trailer For Christopher Nolan’s Take On The Greek Epic
Writer/director Christopher Nolan is back with The Odyssey, starring Matt Damon and setting up to be one of the biggest bets yet from Universal Pictures this summer. The film was shot in IMAX 70mm film with locations across several countries in Europe, as well as in North Africa to encompass his take on the sweeping epic tale based on the ancient Greek tale by Homer.
Christopher Nolan’s next film, The Odyssey, is a mythic action epic shot across the world using brand new IMAX® film technology. The film brings Homer’s foundational saga to IMAX® film screens for the first time and opens in theaters everywhere on July 17, 2026.
The Odyssey stars Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson and Lupita Nyong’o, with Zendaya and Charlize Theron.
The Odyssey is produced by Emma Thomas and Christopher Nolan for their company, Syncopy. The executive producer is Thomas Hayslip.
The first teaser debuted last summer, readying for the film’s IMAX run with ticket sales selling out nearly a year ahead of its release. No doubt the new trailer now online will help seal the deal some, going all-in with a new look at Damon in full regalia with Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Zendaya, and Charlize Theron all lining up the cast.
The Odyssey commences on July 17. Trailer below:
