Three Kung Fu Nerds Do Battle In Ep. 1 Of The MARTIAL CLUB CHRONICLES
I have often talked about the Martial Club before on my Facebook page. Martial Club is a professional sports team based out in California. The members currently include Daniel Mah, and the Le brothers, Andy and Brian. Andy has been training for about five or six years, with Brian practicing for up to three. In 2009 they started making shortfilms of their own through 2010 when they met Daniel Mah.
From what I have researched so far, the team is largely known in its working comnunity as a small group of athletes who train in Wushu Kung Fu and gymnastics, and for competing and showcasing their dynamic skillsets for live sporting events at places like the JAM Gymnasium in Reseda, California. Martial Club is also known for partaking in performing stunts and choreographing action sequences for today’s independent action film industry, as can be seen on their YouTube channel, as well as over at Dragon Phoenix Entertainment, Whirlwind Action, the EMC Monkeys and many other production companies.
Martial Club unleashed its latest showreel in early February, showcasing some of the work they have done and continue to do. One of those projects include the first episode of their latest webseries, Martial Club Chronicles, starring all three club members, and edited and directed by Andy Le. The pilot identifies as a quirky comedic shortfilm that pays some ohmage to the classic Hong Kong film, Dragons Forever, that is, if you are familar with the music when it begins. 😉
Check it out below, and be sure that if you are ever in Andy Le’s presence, that you NEVER, EVER call him a “n00b”. Enjoy!
