It’s high time for events to unfold at FilMart in Hong Kong, reaffirmed no less than what we now get to witness in the brand new official trailer for VFX artist Ng Yuen-Fai’s latest directing gig, Warriors Of Future.
In the not-too-distant future, pollution and global warming have left Earth barren, a giant meteorite crashed down and an odd looking vine started to grow from it. While this vine, people called it Pandora, sucked up the smog and began to purify Earth, it also grew at high speed destroying anything in sight. When the genetic map of Pandora was revealed, genetic modification became the last hope for mankind.
The last four years have proven pivotal for the production between filming and budget issues, as well as the obvious matter of post production. For all intents and purposes however, Warriors Of Future stands to be a prospective in several ways – especially as a visual feat top lined by a high-energy cast with Louis Koo both starring and producing.
A 2019 release may finally arise for this long-awaited sci-fi thriller. The promise is definitely there – a notion perhaps indicative by the success of Wu Jing’s own sprawling sci-fi spectacle, The Wandering Earth in Chinese cinemas.
Also starring are Sean Lau, Carina Lau, Nick Cheung and Tse Kwan-ho… and apparently a shit ton of killers robots. Cue the big stunts, epic battles and Terminator reference!
