WIDOW: THE WAY OF THE RAVEN In The Works At Perfect Village
Deadline‘s Tom Grater is reporting word that Joanne Reay’s speculative script, Widow: The Way Of The Raven, has found a new home at China-based Perfect Village.
Directors and several stars are circling the project, described as a Western that takes its cues from the law of “widow’s succession”. Reay’s script is set during the late 19th century in California where a Chinese woman inherits her late husband’s badge and vows to find and execute the man who murdered a young Chinese girl in a racist attack.
Reay’s writing and producing credit include Bring Me the Head of Mavis Davis, Cold & Dark, and Gallowwalkers.
