Director Kiran Korrapati’s first film of late incurs a bevy of beatdowns with Telugu sports fighting drama, Ghani, starring Varun Tej in the lead role. The life of a boxer whose passion is sports who has been training since a young age to reach his dreams suddenly things take a tough turn which totally changes his life. Also starring are Saiee M Manjrekar, Jagapathi Babu, Upendra, Sunil Shetty, and Naveen Chandra, and as you might guess, you’re in pretty damn good company as the minds behind the action are none other than Vlad Rimburg and Malay Kim, both who’ve work on blockbuster titles and several TV shows to note. Ghani is set for an April 8 release where available, so keep an eye out!

Granted, I’m not really sure if you need to see that one in order to follow up with its current sequel, though all that’s known in terms of the connection is that Shroff is back playing a character with the same name. Oxide Pang’s latest firefighter drama, Flashover, for one, now sets sail for a likely July 8 release this year according to the key art below, and at long last, we have a teaser to share which you can view above. SELLBLOCK Revs Up With Gritty Pre-Production Teaser For New Filipino Crime Drama

The first pre-production teaser is online for Filipino TV prison drama, Sellblock, with news signaling actor Jericho Rosales to lead the cast. Sellblock is the first on an Asian genre slate of projects announced back in February to be jointly backed and produced by companies in the Philippines, Hong Kong, and United States. A fictional series which chronicles one of Asia’s biggest drug empires, operating from inside the Philippines’ largest maximum-security prison. Discover how the drug lords made it their Las Vegas of prisons. Also starring are Tirso Cruz III, Cherry Pie Picache, Ronnie Lazaro, Rosanna Roces, Mon Confiado and RK Bagatsing, with more casting announcements ahead. iQIYI’s 2022 line-up is already making headway this year following some late 2021 announcements, the latest being Marc Ma’s summer crime thriller, Wolf Hiding, with Nick Cheung, Ethan Juan, Darren Wang, Paul Chun, Andrew Lin and Danny Chan Kwok Kwan. A clandestine gang is in disarray following the appearance of a mystery person and sparks off a war for a new order. We now have a trailer and poster circulating as well. Expect a July 8 mainland release as we await more info on its rollout abroad!

Jacky Heung Steals The Lens In A New Still Promo For Xu Haofeng’s Latest Collaborative Martial Arts Period Drama

Several stills have already begun making the rounds for Men Qian Baodi (a.k.a. A Treasure In Front Of The Door), the latest from filmmaker Xu Haofeng and co-director Xu Junfeng. Some of these can be seen with additional stills from the film as well as a bit of dialog from actor Jacky Heung who stars among the line-up, all well-knit in a photo promo which you can view above. Production wrapped in the first week of March with a cast that also lists Andy On, Bea Hayden, Shiyi Tang and Zhao Zheng. JADE: James Bamford’s Debut Thriller Starring Shaina West Now Filming

Cameras are already underway in Alberquerque, New Mexico with stunt professional James Bamford (Ek Tha Tiger, Rampage, CW series Arrow) making his directorial debut, Jade, for stuntwoman and breakout actress Shaina West (Marvel’s Black Widow), who goes by @thesamurider On Instagram. The film was first announced last June hailing West in the company of actors Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler) and Mark Dacascos (John Wick: Parabellum), and as of this week, also stars Kat McNamara (Shadowhunters) and Marcus Vincios Maciel with plans to release later this year. Consider this a heads-up if you’re eagerly awaiting the latest on Singaporean actor Sunny Pang. With Gareth Evans’ Havoc on deck from Netflix, the actor is now suiting up as a blind government assassin in Ranjeet Marwa’s Blind Wolf which rolls cameras this November in Singapore. The two previously worked on Marwa’s dystopian survival thriller, Exiled: The Chosen Ones, which is still par for a Southeast Asian release this year. This Spring, down south will be the place to be as Speller Street Films, in association with The Pinhook and Mo’ Better Soul, sets up shop in Durham, North Carolina, as its next stop for traveling Blaxploitation cinema exhibition and screening series, “Black Kung Fu Cinema”. April 23 will see the premiere of Lu Chun-Ku’s 1975 thriller, The Black Dragon’s Revenge, starring Ron Van Clief, followed by Cirio H. Santiago’s 1974 femme fatale thriller, TNT Jackson on May 21.
