Indeed, that makea three headlines this week for the upcoming 211 star whose latest attachment comes by way of Japanese auteur Sono Sion’s new post-apcolyptic actioner, Prisoners Of The Ghostland, which XYZ Films has included in its sales raft at Cannes. News comes just a day following Cage’s attachment to Millenium’s forthcoming detective noir thriller, Kill Chain. Lionsgate This is me waiting to see if director Susanna Fogel’s new explosive action comedy, The Spy Who Dumped Me, will cue any soundbytes from Pat Benetar’s “Love Is A Battlefield”. Not that I mind good old fashioned musical nostalgia here – or even that this film offers itself as a fitting date movie provided yours is the kind of company that doesn’t mind seeing things blow up and get shot in between lingering thoughts on romantic crises. I also like that Kate McKinnon looks like she’s having a goddamn blast with this one. Sans the 2004 and 2007 comic book follow-ups, I always took more of a liking to the original two Predator films from John McTiernan and Stephen Hopkins. The 2010 follow-up in Predators wasn’t perfect but an alright sequel that had me curious while I always wondered if there would ever be something more linear involving this particular IP. Fast forward to 2018 and not so much so in linear fashion, Shane Black joins in offering yet another ensemble round up in The Predator with Boyd Holbrook, Olivia Munn; Keegan-Michael Key, Jacob Tremblay, Sterling K. Release Date Changes: BAD BOYS 3 And HOBBS/SHAW ‘Fast’ Spinoff

Trade news sources are confirming release date changes for at least two titles this week. Columbia/Universal First up is Bad Boys For Life, currently set up at Sony for Morrocan film duo Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah (Gangsta) to direct. Anita Busch at Deadline is confirming a Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend release on January 17, 2020 with actors Will Smith and Martin Lawrence reprising their roles for a third time since the trilogy took off in 1995. That film and its 2003 sequel were both directed by Michael Bay and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer who will also produce the threequel. Make Way For German Martial Arts Action With JACK WALKER

Making way for German martial arts action cinema is the auspicious return of cinematography wonder and filmmaker Tanay Ulgen for Jack Walker. Ulgen, whose exemplary work can be seen in an array of shortfilms online such as The Messenger and Repercussion, makes his feature debut. Hailing from Broken Bone Productions and Mike Moeller Films, actor Stefan Morawietz who appears alongside Darren Shahlavi in Ip Man 2, stars from a script by Andreas and Mathias Urra. The film also rejoins him with Arena Of The Street Fighter and One Million K(l)icks star Mike Moeller who serves as fight choreographer, and in turn with Ulgen as they both share lineage with Reel Deal Action feature, Plan B: Scheiss Auf Plan A. It’s a great time to be Nicolas Cage amidst week with several films coming down the pipeline. His latest, Mandy, directed by Panos Cosmatos, internationally sold out EVERYWHERE at Cannes according to an exclusive at Variety this week and now Alex Ritman at The Hollywood Reporter is telling of what’s being described as in the vein of the “greatest detective noir films”. Kill Chain is the name of the project to be directed by Numb3rs series producer and The Replacement Killers scribe Ken Sanzel with a story centered on the lives of three strangers who inevitably become entangled in a conflict none of them are prepared for. The territories include per the report as follows: North America (Vertical Entertainment), Australia and New Zealand (Eagle Entertainment), and Spain (Mediaset).
