Shane Black’s THE PREDATOR Crashlands Online In The First Official Teaser Trailer

Sans the 2004 and 2007 comic book follow-ups, I always took more of a liking to the original two Predator films from John McTiernan and Stephen Hopkins. The 2010 follow-up in Predators wasn’t perfect but an alright sequel that had me curious while I always wondered if there would ever be something more linear involving this particular IP.
Fast forward to 2018 and not so much so in linear fashion, Shane Black joins in offering yet another ensemble round up in The Predator with Boyd Holbrook, Olivia Munn; Keegan-Michael Key, Jacob Tremblay, Sterling K. Brown, Trevante Rhodes, Thomas Jane and Edward James Olmos starring. The official trailer is now online and with all the talk and hype over how the titular alien hunter will have an added interspecial factor in its upgraded armor, we now get a taste of just what that entails with Holbrook leading strong.

From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.

With advance screenings in its wake, September 14 is the date for this long-awaited bad boy from writers Fred Dekker and Iron Man 3 writer/director Black marking his return to the franchise since starring in the original with Arnold Schwarzenegger.
