Yes, it’s some of the best stuff you’ll ever see online if you’re a true action movie cinephile. THE PURGE: ELECTION YEAR Comes Home Starting Next Month!

Moviegoers in the U.K. still has about a week before director James DeMonaco’s The Purge: Election Year makes the theatrical rounds capping off the current trilogy until further notice. In the meantime, folks in the U.S. will soon have an opportunity to invite the dystopian suspense thriller saga in their home with both the trilogy as well as the latest installation which sees lead actor Frank Grillo returning to the fray. This is one I missed during its theatrical run so I’ll definitely be bookmarking this for later viewing. The most difficult thing about discussing comic book movies is the constant flow of rumors that drown out any fact-based conversation on any title in the genre. Deadpool 2, no less, is an obvious target for this kind of tomfoolery while fans engage in many a shoutfesty, reactey, ALL CAPS TYPEY fan rant about who it is they want to see play certain characters on the big screen, namely characters Cable and Domino. [UPDATED] TIFF 2016: Mo Bros' Actioner, HEADSHOT Gets Poster Sightings

The tension and excitement continue to brew in lieu of the upcoming world premiere of the new action thriller, Headshot at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival. Other screenings are also in the works for the new movie from Killers and Macabre helmers Timo Tjahjanto and Kimo Stamboel while a likely 2017 release date for next year remains pending. In the meantime, you may recall a batch of teaser posters slowly rolling out earlier this year during the film’s post-production process introducing blurred images of the cast. Currently on deck for a premiere amid the specials line-up at TIFF, Alexey Mizgirev’s new thriller, The Duelist, is back and making the rounds with a pulsating new trailer brimming with intensity and action. Fashion Spells Trouble In The New Trailer For Seagal Actioner, END OF A GUN

To be honest, I’m more focused on what action star Steven Seagal plans on doing with his upcoming sequel to Above The Law since it was announced earlier this month. In the meantime, he’s back and with none other than helmer Keoni Waxman for their ninth pairing for the new action thriller, End Of A Gun. Lionsgate/Grindstone are releasing the film on September 23 with Seagal in the role of a former DEA agent who finds himself in a whirlwind of trouble after helping a mysterious woman steal two million dollars from a sadistic drug lord. Executive producer Sarjono Sutrisno and the folks over at Skylar Pictures are exemplary of this with their latest in-house effort, Valentine, a live-action adaptation of their own comic book line from creator Aswin MC Siregar, and one which has taken its fair share of time to fully come to fruition. Paramount Pictures It only took five movies prior to announcements last Fall, but with 13 Hours co-star John Krazinski pegged for the lead of the new small screen adaptation, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, Amazon is making it official with a series now in tow for their Amazon Prime streaming service. At least three of the films are classics while the character, as created by the aforementioned author through his popular series of titular espionage novels which began in 1970, apparently continues to bear some creative significance even up to this year, and so I’m looking forward to see what new can be brought to the fray for a serial approach. Apart from that I just played it low key and tuned into some more anime and more Hit List content, and I didn’t think I would find a lot to load for the second playlist. As such, with one’s own production of a full-length, self-produced and funded feature-length project, landing a distributor is a terrific and incredible milestone, and one that now officially precedes the future that awaits actor and independent filmmaker, Leroy Nguyen of Rising Tiger Films. After two years of post-Raid hype and it’s plain to see how painstaking it feels just waiting for the next big Iko Uwais-led action movie to hit the big screen. Thankfully, the time since then hasn’t entirely been for naught with the Merantau star making a few notable splashes in Hollywood whilst keeping things afloat on the local end, and principally with hit horror genre duo, the Mo Brothers – Timo Tjahjanto and Kimo Stamboel (Macabre, Killers). There’s no question that much ado will be about anything and everything Star Wars as 2016 comes to a close. Director Gareth Edwards’s newest, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, unveiled a first trailer back in April, invoking a stunning visual homage to George Lucas’s classic vision that spins off mid-way of the six-film cannon focusing on the story of the Rebel Alliance as it planned to infiltrate and steal the plans to the Death Star. Titles are everything, especially for a film franchise with an extensive fanbase that dates back more than a decade. Such is is the case for the 1995 blockbuster actioner, Bad Boys from Michael Bay, an ample heavy-hitter for the 90’s action niche and perfectly ripe with as many one-liners as we can take right down to the rapid fire finish.
