It took about an hour but Wednesday night’s Twitch.tv stream finally made way for awaiting audiences to spy the newest trailer for director Ilya Naishuller’s new movie, Hardcore Henry. The film is already prone to acclaim among previous festiaval viewers with more to come following its forthcoming premiere in March at SXSW. Antoine Fuqua has certainly become prospective in the last few years in both TV and film. At least two of his movies are being adapted into small screen ventures and he’s already overseeing one of them at CBS. The other will be dealt with accordingly by director Simon Cellan now helming the pilot for Shooter which a new press release is officially announcing series pick up at USA Network following actor Ryan Philippe’s attachment last August. Courtesy of Disney Director Rian Johnson is officially underway with production for Star Wars VIII according to a new report from EW. “There is no better way to propel this franchise into the future than producing quality products,” said Disney CEO Bob Iger. “Filming of Star Wars: Episode VIII, the next chapter of the legendary saga, has just commenced and it will be in theaters December 2017. Action star Jackie Chan is currently in London blowing things up with filmmaker Martin Campbell for the tentatively titled action thriller, The Foreigner. In the meantime, things are slowly coming into fruition for his third stint with director Ding Sheng following their recent completion on the Shangdong, China set of Railroad Tigers which adds to four current Chan titles for fans to get excited for this year so far. Releasing this October, Chan headlines with Kai Wang, Huang Zi-Tao, Fan Xu, Wang Da-Lu and Ikeuchi Hiroyuki rounding out the cast with a script by Sheng which puts Chan in the role of a railroad worker leading a team of freedom fighters against the Japanese during World War II. Jean Reno Takes The Lead In Hitman Thriller, THE LAST STEP

Jean Reno is set to take the lead for a new hitman thriller in Frederick Petitjean’s The Last Step. Screendaily writes that cameras will commence later this year with Reno starring as a hitman retired and hidden in Northern Canada who unwittingly crosses paths with an injured woman, played by The Assasination Of Jesse James co-star Sarah Lind. France-based Seven 52’s Laurent Tolleron and Eight 35’s Corrinne Benichou and Florence Moos are producing with Mark Montague, James Fler and Michael Paszt for Berserker in Canada. Also producing are Mark Vennis and Gary Phillips for U.K. based Moviehouse who will represent the film globally.

Frank Grillo may be far and away from any prospects from a remake of The Raid, but that won’t impede him from featuring in some notable thrillers to date. Take A Stab At The Latest Trailer For THE PERFECT WEAPON

Director Matthias Titus Paar is accomodating action fans with another new stint featuring actor Johnny Messner in upcoming futuristic action thriller, The Perfect Weapon. Straight and to the point here (and obviously there’s no need to point out the differece between this one and Mark DiSalle’s 1991 film which should be obvious), clearly Messner shows out some great chops for this latest diddy from VMI Worldwide, so I would advise looking into this one simply for the fact that he’s the star. Casting Seagal here was a pretty good move to make this one noticeable to Seagal fans and some action fans, but here it’s obvious he’s co-starring.
