Guerrilla Filmmaking At It's Most Dysfunctional In The New Trailer For AGENT 6

Independent filmgroup Torrid Productions has a new trailer out for a new shortfilm on its way to this year’s film festival circuit, and not without a sense of intrigue. The shortfilm is titled Agent 6, and I first learned about this project a couple of months ago through actress Bridger Anne Fox who shot her fight scene in the course of one weekend. In my recent dialogue with Bridger, she spoke highly of the project, as well as co-star Pierre Parker, and director, Desciple. “We were just having fun and the fights were choreographed on the spot. The news comes as actor Tom Cruise is also about to appear director Doug Liman’s next film, Edge Of Tomorrow, a big screen adaptation of a 2004 manga, from a screenplay that McQuarrie also scribed. I recently became a fan of McQuarrie after watching the 2012 film, Jack Reacher (speaking of which, I ought to review that one already). And I was pretty pleased with what I saw in that particular film being McQuarrie’s second directorial effort since the 2000 film, The Way Of The Gun. I’m not too familiar with the Krrish film franchise, but you would think that writer, producer and director Rakesh Roshan sat down and took notes from the first teaser for Man Of Steel to help set the standard for his latest upcoming superhero flick, Krrish 3. Now, I know that might not be entirely true, but at any rate, the footage is highly impressive and looks like just the kind of film any superhero movie fan can look forward to. Funimation Celebrates Happy 25 With AKIRA On DVD/Blu-Ray Later This Year

Not going to lie. I have yet to see Akira, and not because I haven’t had any interest as I have always loved anime. But I guess that’s just my luck, huh? Well, while we are waiting for Non-Stop director Jaume Collet-Serra‘s newly announced restart of production for the $90 million-or-less live action feature film with Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Davisson Killoran and Andrew Lazar producing for Warner Bros., FUNimation has plans to release the 25th Anniversary DVD/Blu-Ray of the classic 1988 animated movie directed by Katsuhiro Otomo, who wrote the original 1982 manga for Kodansha.
