Director Kim Yong-hwa’s ability to tell big and epic stories remains as spectacular and thrilling as you can expect with his latest sci-fi thriller, The Moon. I will say that just a little bit of the writing fumbles early in the first half but picks almost lithely back up with moments of pure suspense and upheaval at a healthy pace enough to warrant recommending. Hairul Azreen, Malaysian Actor And Filmmaker, Star of WIRA And THE ASSISTANT, Retires From Acting

Not a lot of Westerners know who Hairul Azreen is. If those same people are even remotely into what I and those in my demographic are when it comes to films, they would he in for a lovely surprise, endulging in some of Azreen’s more recent hits like Paskal, Wira and The Assistant. He’s got a few more credits in bound including patriotic war thriller Malbatt: Misi Bakara and Syamsul Yusof’s The Original Gangster as well, and to that end, that will be the end of Azreen’s acting career as of Monday’s annoucements. Coming soon from Umbrella Entertainment is Suka, the new Asian/Australian gangster thriller starring Jenny Wu (Lady Bloodfight, Australia Day). The film is directed by Heidi Lee Douglas from a script she penned with Lily Cheng and Tsu Shan Chambers, and with action sequences by NSW-based stunt coordinator Jackie Murray (Gold, Wyrmwood: Apocalypse). MARLOWE: Dazzler Announces Liam Neeson 1930s Crime Thriller For September UK Disc Release

Neil Jordan’s mystery crime thriller, Marlowe, is coming to DVD and Blu-Ray in the UK from Dazzler beginning September 18. The film stars Liam Neeson, Jessica Lange, Diane Kruger, Alan Cumming and Danny Huston. When private detective Philip Marlowe (Liam Neeson, Silence, Taken) is hired to find the ex-lover of a glamorous heiress, it looks like an open and shut case, but Marlowe soon finds himself in the underbelly of Hollywood’s film industry of the 1930’s and unwittingly drawn into the crossfire of a legendary Hollywood actress (Jessica Lange, The Gambler, Cape Fear) and her subversive, ambitious daughter (Diane Kruger, The 355, Inglourious Basterds).
