THE CROW: Lionsgate Picks Up Revenge Thriller Reboot Starring Bill Skarsgård Out Of Toronto

Lionsgate has acquired the newest reboot effort from director Rupert Sanders (Ghost In The Shell) with The Crow, featuring Bill Skarsgård (John Wick: Chapter 4) in the lead role. Danny Huston (Marlowe) and critically-acclaimed singer-songwriter FKA twigs (Honeyboy) also star in the Prague-shot film along with Laura Birn (Foundation), Sami Bouajila (A Son), and Jordan Bolger (The Woman King). Zach Baylin (King Richard) and Will Schneider wrote the script based on the original graphic novel by James O’Barr, whose 1994 Miramax release from director Alex Proyas centered on musician Eric Draven, brought back from the dead to avenge himself and his fiancé a year after their murder on Devil’s Night. WAR ON TERROR: KL ANARKI Official Trailer Unleashes The Mayhem

War On Terror: KL Anarki marks the latest in Malaysian action this time from co-helmers Kroll Azry (“KL Gangster: Underworld”) and Frank See (Air Force: The Movie – Selagi Bernyawa). The film stars Aedy Ashraf, Farali Khan, Qi Razali, Daiyan Trisha, and Noki K. Clique, and opens in cinemas locally on November 23. Khalid, a rebellious cop from an elite special force must prove he is able to work as a team in order to thwart terrorist threats to bring down Kuala Lumpur. Perhaps of import is See’s own experience working on big scale sets with demanding levels of tactical action and prep as marine and military advisor and coordinator (see Paskal, The Battle at Lake Changjin, The Rescue and Operation Red Sea). As appealing as Malaysian action cinema has been and continues to be, I’d say a production like this is a good step up. Take a look!

BALLERINA: Jun Jong-Seo Moves With Vengeful Grace In The First Teaser

The bolstering of Korean content proves to be a continual winner for Netflix with Lee Chung-hyun’s new movie, Ballerina, par for the course. The film stars Jun Jong-seo, Kim Ji-hun and Park Yu-rim, and is set to launch on October 6. Ok ju (Jun), an ex-bodyguard, is mourning the loss of her best friend, Min hee (Park), who was a ballerina. RAGE OF STARS: Learn More About Lukasz Rog’s Upcoming Polish Sci-Fi Action Flick

Principal photography is just about finished on Lukasz Rog’s Polish action sci-fi production, Rage Of Stars. The English-language film marks Rog’s feature debut out of his Rzesow-based Lukra Films. Plot details are pending on Rage of Stars while the project is described as a feature-length expansion of a proof-of-concept Rog directed in 2021 titled “No Stars Anymore” – about a secret service agent battling with premonitions hinting at mankind’s impending extinction. British-Romanian actress Andrea Tivadar (“Warrior Nun”) leads the cast along with Jack McEvoy (The Rhythm Section), Elijah Rover (“Vikings”), Jord Knotter (“Goede tijden, slechte tijden”), and Polish TV stars Małgorzata Klara (“The Crown of the Kings”), Mayu Gralińska-Sakai (“Barwy szczescia”) and actor Jakub Ormaniec (“Papiery na szczescie”). I’ve been living under a rock of immense work and with very little help, so I completely missed the announcement just over a month ago when Reiki Tsuno’s action comedy, Mad Cats, was acquired by Cineverse to begin streaming exclusively on Midnight Pulp in late 2023. Indeed, that’s the case and so finally folks who’ve been following action actress Ayane on social media and are keen on seeing her breakout role may finally be able to do so.
