THE BOY AND THE HERON: Don’t Miss The First-Ever Promotional Teaser For Hiyao Miyazaki’s Latest Hand-Drawn Animated Adventure
Announcing its acquisition of Hayao Miyazaki’s newest endeavor following the release of nothing more than a poster to harken back to his heyday as a young moviegoer when trailers didn’t exist, GKids is proudly taking the mantle on the latter this week. Releasing in North American theaters and in IMAX beginning December 8, the animated adventure The Boy And The Heron now gets a teaser to signal fans of the opulent energy and majesty of his latest work, even as reactions to the film since its Japan release back in July.
A young boy named Mahito
yearning for his mother
ventures into a world shared by the living and the dead.
There, death comes to an end,
and life finds a new beginning.
A semi-autobiographical fantasy
about life, death, and creation, in tribute to friendship, from the mind of Hayao Miyazaki.
The Boy And The Heron marks Miyazaki’s first feature film in 10 years, hailing Studio Ghibli with co-founder Toshio Suzuki producing, and music by long-time Miyazaki cohort Joe Hisaishi with J-pop star Kenshi Yonezu headlining the film’s theme song, “Spinning Globe.”
