While two seasons away from its release next year, it’s safe to say the first official trailer for the new third-phase MCU outing, Captain Marvel, has gained a foothold. Directing pair Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck are at the helm for the new chapter of the continuing saga now preceding the events of Avengers: Infinity War, with actress Brie Larson front and center.
Set in the 1990s, Marvel Studios’ “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that follows the journey of Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes. “While a galactic war between two alien races reaches Earth, Danvers finds herself and a small cadre of allies at the center of the maelstrom.
You also get glimpses at the digitally remapped faces of Samuel L. Jackson and Clark Gregg back in their respective roles of agents Nick Fury and Phil Coulson, as well as the usual pleatora of comic book spectacle that has exhibitors already waiting to put butts and seats come March 8. Ben Mendelsohn, Jude Law, Djimon Hounsou, Lashana Lynch and Lee Pace also star.
