Principal Photography is already underway in Hungary for Dog Soldiers and The Reckoning helmer Neil Marshall’s new film, The Lair. Set to star in the film are Jonathan Howard (Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World, Skylines, Warner Bros.’ Godzilla King of Monsters), Charlotte Kirk (The Reckoning, Warner Bros.’ Oceans Eight), and Jamie Bamber (UMC’s “Battlestar Galactica,” Cinemax’s “Strike Back,” 20th Century Fox’s Money), from a script by Marshall who is also exec producing.

Pre-production has started for independent action thriller, Rupture, which has actor and martial artist Mark Strange (Ip Man 4: The Finale, Redcon-1) set to star. Cameras will roll in July in Birmingham, U.K. with Ranjeet S. Marwa (upcoming Exiled: The Chosen Ones) directing from a script and story treatment from Daniel White.

WHITE ELEPHANT Adds John Malkovich And More To The Jesse V. Johnson Action Thriller Now In Production
Actor John Malkovich (Valley Of The Gods, Ava) leads an additional list of names joining Bruce Willis-led actioner, White Elephant. News of the film broke on Thursday through mainstream trade outlets also hailing actress Olga Kurylenko (The Courier) and Michael Rooker (The Suicide Squad) from a script by Erik Martinez, and action stalwart Jesse V. Johnson (Avengement, Triple Threat) who directs.The film, currently shooting in Georgia, also stars actor Vadhir Derbez (The Seventh Day), who plays Carl, a burgeoning assassin who botches his latest job, forcing his mentor, ex-marine-turned-mob enforcer Gabriel Tancredi (Willis) to mitigate his conscience and code of honor in order to set things right.

Jesse V. Johnson is taking the mantle for The Exchange’s latest world sales acquistion, White Elephant, casting Bruce Willis (Cosmic Sin), Olga Kurylenko (The Courier) and Michael Rooker (Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy) according to Scott Roxborough’s exclusive via The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday. Production is already underway in Georgia from a script Johnson wrote with Erik Martinez, with Corey Large of 308 Productions producing, and BondIt Media fully financing, and sales slated for next week’s virtual market at Cannes.
SUPERCELL: Alec Baldwin Disaster Adventure Now Underway, Adds Four To Cast
Production is officially underway with thriller, Supercell, following its announcement back in March. Cameras began rolling on May 7 for the Alec Baldwin-led disaster thriller, and now more names are being added to the roster including Skeet Ulrich (The CW’s “Riverdale,” “#Freerayshawn”), and Emmy-award winner and Tony-nominated Anne Heche (Donny Brasco, The Vanished), with Daniel Diemer (Tribeca Film Festival winner The Half of It) and newcomer Jordan Kristine Seamón (HBO’s “We Are Who We Are”) rounding out the cast.

ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT: Netflix Reveals First Look At New Pacifist War Drama Coming In 2022
Netflix revealed the first few images of director Edward Berger’s (Patrick Melrose, Jack) adaptation of All Quiet On The Western Front, which is currently set for release in 2022. The film takes its cues from author Erich Maria Remarque’s bestselling 1928 pacificist war novel of the same name, and marks the first German production based on the property following director/co-writer Lewis Milestone’s 1930 film, which fell to Nazi censorship and forced its director into Swiss exile.

Actor and punk-rock icon Iggy Pop (Coffee and Cigarettes, Universal Pictures Cry-Baby, The Crow: City Of Angels) has joined the cast of the dark comedy Blue Iguana, currently filming in the Cayman Islands under the newly announced three-picture production deal between Productivity Media and Darius Films. Jeremy LaLonde (James vs. His Future Self, Sex After Kids) is directing the film from a script by Matthew Dressel (YouTube’s “The Pilot is Dead”) and stars Joel David Moore (James Cameron’s Avatar), Bob Saget (“Full House,” “Fuller House”), Jason Jones (TBS comedy series “The Detour,” HBO Max’s “The Flight Attendant”), Carly Chaikin (“Mr. Robot”), and Mary Lynn Rajskub (Paul Thomas Anderson’s Punch-Drunk Love, Fox Searchlight Pictures’ Little Miss Sunshine, and TV’s “24”).In Blue Iguana, Iggy Pop will play Edward, the wealthy patriarch whose death kicks off a chain of unfortunate events after Daniel Powell’s plan to reconnect with his siblings hits a snag when he discovers they all want to kill him for his inheritance. Action thriller, Blowback, is currently in production starring actors Randy Couture (The Expendables, Final Kill), lead actor Cam Gigandet (Black Site Delta), and Louis Mandylor (The Brave, Avengement). Tibor Takács (The Gate, Lies & Illusions) is directing the heist revenge thriller from a script by Kevin Yarris and Robert Edward Thomas.
Amazon’s THE LORD OF THE RINGS Series Crews Up With British Chinese Director Wayne Che Yip
British Chinese director Wayne Che Yip (Hunters, Preacher, Channel 4’s Utopia, AMC’s Into The Badlands, Doctor Who, upcoming The Wheel of Time) is joining the creative team behind Amazon Studios’ The Lord Of The Rings Series. Yip will direct four episodes for the new Amazon Original show which is currently filming in New Zealand, and will also serve as co-executive producer.
PROJECT H: Aaron Toney’s Martial Arts Fantasy Pilot Commences Principal Photography
In an announcement from actor, director and stunt professional Aaron Toney sent to us on Tuesday, Toney revealed the following: “Production has officially kicked off with Aaron Toney and his entertainment company, Halvon Corporation Entertainment. The crew is set to work for three days in the Mojave desert region on the new pilot for Halvon Corps first show “Project H”.Billed as a pilot for a planned series, Project H stems from Toney’s martial arts fantasy-infused indie short, Throne, born from the like minds of Toney along with Toney, Jason Sweat, and Linda Jewell. The concept remained in quiet evolution ever since then, while Toney continued working stunts, most recently retiring the Falcon costume after doubling Anthony Mackie’s character on Falcon And The Winter Soldier, which is now airing on Disney+.Toney revived the project in an official crowdfunding campaign back in December, hailing Project H as the official launchpad for Halvon Corp. Entertainment and Global Forge Studios. Plot and story details are otherwise being kept under wraps by the tightly-lipped Toney, who is building the series next to writer/producer Sweat, and with co-producer Julia Maggio. There is no word yet on acquisitions or sales for the series.Fans following Toney can also take a gander at his social media of late where he’s since begun teasing the start of production, sharing photos of himself and that of actor Yoshi Sudarso (Buffalo Boys, The Paper Tigers) who committed to the project back in January.
