The undoubtedly gargantuan task of manifesting an entire cinematic universe is never easy, with Indonesia’s previously-announced aspirations for the Bumilangit Cinematic Universe serving up to be quite the task. The good news is Joko Anwar’s 2019 film, Gundala, helped get the ball rolling, which now brings us to (what looks like) an unrelated endeavor in the form of upcoming shortfilm, Patriot: Selamatkan Indonesia, which has since launched a teaser as of late July. ANITA Official Teaser Reignites The Spark Ahead Of 2021 Release

Edko Films is backing Cold War co-helmer Longman Leung’s new biopic, Anita, based on the life and times of the late Hong Kong film, television and music sensation Anita Mui, who sadly passed away in 2003. Hong Kong model Louise Wong stars in the title role for the film’s theatrical release later this year, with Sony reportedly acquiring the film for release in several Asian territories according to reports out of Screen. This long-awaited biopic provides a vivid account of the remarkable life of Anita Mui in and behind the limelight, chronicling her journey from a child performer to becoming one of world’s most recognized music icons. EMERGENCY DECLARATION Teaser Trailer: Song Kang-Ho And Lee Byung-Hun Tackle Unfriendly Skies

Premiering Out Of Competition at Cannes next week is The King helmer Han Jae-rim’s newest thriller, Emergency Declaration. The latest international teaser trailer is making the rounds from the reps at Showbox, with actors Song Kang-ho (Parasite) and Lee Byung-hun (Ashfall) top-billed to head the story of passengers aboard a plane forced to declare an emergency when an unprecedented terror occurs in flight. That’s pretty much it for the logline too, and the rest is up to what you can gather from the footage being offered, on top of the poster which you can view below. There’s unrest, upheaval and the constant threat of imminent danger that lends a lot to pick apart here. Acquisition news remains pending so don’t wait up too long, but keep this one on radar for sure.

DAIKAIJYU NO ATOSHIMATSU Teases Suspenseful Monster Thrills For 2022!

Instant Swamp and It’s Me, It’s Me director Satoshi Miki’s got a hell of a tease for you all out there lovin’ your monster moviefare and whatnot. There’s yet to be an English title but feel free to bookmark Daikaijyu no Atoshimatsu going forward as it stays the course for a 2022 release starring Ryosuke Yamada (Fullmetal Alchemist) and Tao Tsuchiya (Rurouni Kenshin saga). A co-prod between Shochiku and Toei, both actors play ex-fiancees to one-another – specialists in their field who are assigned to the charge of a monster that attacks Japan and suddenly dies, only to ensue the looming threat of the country’s collapse stemming from a potential gas explosion from where the monster’s carcass lays. The teaser above doesn’t reveal the full monster but there’s enough shots to get a few glimpses along with the poster below which reveals a little more about the stakes at hand. […]

Get Ready For WARHORSE ONE From The Director Of ‘Daylight’s End’ And ‘The Brave’

Director William Kaufman‘s got a bit of an itch that needs scratching. Whatever the case is though, he’s definitely taking his time with it as he continues to tease followers and action fans with bits from his latest, Warhorse One. The film reunites Kaufman with actor Johnny Strong who toplines two of Kaufman’s previous action thriller hits, Sinners And Saints and zombie actioner, Daylight’s End. Kaufman’s knack for shoot ’em ups proved to be an absolute thrill with his most recent cop thriller release, The Brave, and so I’m especially looking to see how this checks out in that regard. And so there we have it. No plot details or casting or production specifics yet and time will tell when he’ll post a trailer to provide some long-awaited relief. CJ Entertainment is starting the week off on a high note for feature suspense thriller, Hard Hit. The first official teaser trailer has been running online for a while now but feel free to check it out above with actor Jo Woo-jin (Seobok) starring front and center. Jo stars as a bank branch manager en route to drop his kids off at school when he suddenly gets a mysterious phone call warning him that his car’s been wired to explode if he exits. Hard Hit is slated to open locally in June.

Produced by Goldmoon in association with Peppermint & company, Inc., Night In Paradise tells a story of a man targeted by a criminal organization and a woman on the verge of life and death. Currently on the heels of its 55th anniversary since birthing the character in the wheelhouse of Tsuburaya Productions, the newest teaser and poster art for Shin Ultraman is here marking the latest update for the franchise. The film hails from Tsuburaya and Toho, and is written by Hideaki Anno who is also producing the pic via his Studio Khara banner following the film’s announcement two years ago, and features none other than actor Takumi Saito (Kiba: The Fangs Of Fiction, Wotakoi: Love Is Hard For Otaku) as the human host for the Ultraman armor in this throwback incarnation to the original. Higuchi and Anno previously paired on Shin Godzilla which, for some, was still hit-or-miss – a hit especially for its adherence to a more practical, stylish presentation akin to its predecessors.
