RRR Teaser Signals The Latest Post-Pandemic Janaury 2022 Epic From S.S. Rajamouli

It’s been well over three years since the wheels began turning for the production of director S.S. Rajamouli’s latest major film effort, RRR. The famed Baahubali helmer crafted the film with screenwriter K. V. Vijayendra Prasad for a cast led by actors N. T. Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan with plans initially to release the film last summer only to realize its forthwith battle with a lingering pandemic that infamously put the global film industry at a standstill. Thankfully though, production has stood the test of time and has since contended with the hurdles it needed to, with Lyca Productions stamping a January 7, 2022 release date to its current promotional campaign which now includes a fully-fledged and brief teaser trailer to sample some of Rajamouli’s epic 1920-set revolutionary tale. Also starring are Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Olivia Morris, Samuthirakani, Alison Doody, and Ray Stevenson.

WYRMWOOD: APOCALYPSE Teaser Reveals More Undead Hell!

Currently making the festival rounds is horror franchise continuation, Wyrmwood: Apocalypse from Kiah Roache-Turner and Tristan Roache-Turner. Arclight is repping the film internationally just as an official teaser has since begun making the rounds ahead of its Brisbane premiere this weekend. A sequel to the 2015 cult hit Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead, Wyrmwood: Apocalypse is post- apocalyptic zombie film that follows soldier Rhys on an arc of redemption as he turns against his evil bosses and joins forces with a group of rebel survivors to help rescue a girl who might hold the cure to the virus. A sci-fi, action, horror film packed with zombies. The film also has a bit of key art which you can view below courtesy of creator Jefferton James. Wyrmwood: Apocalypse stars Luke McKenzie, Jay Gallagher, Bianca Bradey, Jake Ryan, Tasia Zalar and Shantae Barnes Cowan.

Time will tell what awaits for director Kim Jin-min’s (Extracurricular) new action noir, My Name. Regardless, the first teaser is already proving as effective in its tone and intent following the most recent poster and photo reveals, with more on the way until the film launches on Netflix beginning October 15. Jiwoo joins a drug cartel and becomes a mole in the police force to seek the truth behind her father’s death. She encounters harsh truths in the course of carrying out her revenge. The film stars Han So-hee (The World of the Married, Nevertheless) who reportedly performed the difficult action scenes herself according to the streamer. Also starring are Park Hee-soon (Revenger), Ahn Bo-hyun (JTBC’s Itaewon Class), Kim Sang-ho (Ordinary Person), Lee Hak-ju (Hit-And-Run Squad) and Jang Yull (Jo Pil-ho: The Dawning Rage) from a script by Kim Va-da.

Director Roland Emmerich seemingly just loves to make films about massive destruction that could lead to the end of the world. His latest, MOONFALL, appears to not really dispel that notion. Netflix has been “all in” on original productions for years now. Their slate for 2021 though has shown unparalleled ambition by having a new release out every week of this year. The crown jewel of which is, undoubtedly, RED NOTICE. Believe it or not, twenty months have passed since Maria Tran and Takashi Hara turned on the ignition for their latest first narrative feature project, Echo 8, two Decembers ago. Premiering Out Of Competition at Cannes next week is The King helmer Han Jae-rim’s newest thriller, Emergency Declaration. The latest international teaser trailer is making the rounds from the reps at Showbox, with actors Song Kang-ho (Parasite) and Lee Byung-hun (Ashfall) top-billed to head the story of passengers aboard a plane forced to declare an emergency when an unprecedented terror occurs in flight. That’s pretty much it for the logline too, and the rest is up to what you can gather from the footage being offered, on top of the poster which you can view below. There’s unrest, upheaval and the constant threat of imminent danger that lends a lot to pick apart here. Acquisition news remains pending so don’t wait up too long, but keep this one on radar for sure.

Instant Swamp and It’s Me, It’s Me director Satoshi Miki’s got a hell of a tease for you all out there lovin’ your monster moviefare and whatnot. There’s yet to be an English title but feel free to bookmark Daikaijyu no Atoshimatsu going forward as it stays the course for a 2022 release starring Ryosuke Yamada (Fullmetal Alchemist) and Tao Tsuchiya (Rurouni Kenshin saga). A co-prod between Shochiku and Toei, both actors play ex-fiancees to one-another – specialists in their field who are assigned to the charge of a monster that attacks Japan and suddenly dies, only to ensue the looming threat of the country’s collapse stemming from a potential gas explosion from where the monster’s carcass lays. The teaser above doesn’t reveal the full monster but there’s enough shots to get a few glimpses along with the poster below which reveals a little more about the stakes at hand. […]

Get Ready For WARHORSE ONE From The Director Of ‘Daylight’s End’ And ‘The Brave’

Director William Kaufman‘s got a bit of an itch that needs scratching. Whatever the case is though, he’s definitely taking his time with it as he continues to tease followers and action fans with bits from his latest, Warhorse One. The film reunites Kaufman with actor Johnny Strong who toplines two of Kaufman’s previous action thriller hits, Sinners And Saints and zombie actioner, Daylight’s End. Kaufman’s knack for shoot ’em ups proved to be an absolute thrill with his most recent cop thriller release, The Brave, and so I’m especially looking to see how this checks out in that regard. And so there we have it. No plot details or casting or production specifics yet and time will tell when he’ll post a trailer to provide some long-awaited relief.
