HiGH&LOW: BORN TO BE HiGH Teases A Thai Action-Fueled Spin To The Japanese Franchise In 2027!
Japanese action franchise HiGH&LOW is going to Thailand in 2027 with the launch of new series venture, HiGH&LOW: BORN TO BE HiGH. Thailand’s GMMTV and Parbdee Taesuk are producing and mainlining the series with a cast of nearly a dozen A-listers in the region, including Nanon (Korapat Kirdpan), Sky (Wongravee Nateetorn), Nani (Hirunkit Changkham), and Pond (Naravit Lertratkosum).
The story inherits the fascinating worldview of the previous “HiGH & LOW” series, and depicts a dynamic world unique to this new chapter through stylish action and the drama of young people standing up to protect their beliefs.
HiGH&LOW exploded onto screens in 2015, featuring a talent array in the wheelhouse of management firm LDH, including members of Japanese supergroup, Exile Tribe. A culmination of several episodics and feature film, the story encompassed a tale of troubled youths vying for either survival or dominance, in a country crippled by gang violence and corporate skullduggery.
The franchise is packed nearly across the board with high-energy music, drama and action, with directors like Shigeaki Kubo, Norihisa Hinamura, Takanori Tsujimoto, and Yudai Yamaguchi among the crop of helmers for the serials and film. The most recent feature film installment came in 2022 with Kubo’s HiGH&LOW: The Worst (Cross), a sequel to 2019’s HiGH&LOW: The Worst which mingled Hiroshi Takahashi’s “Crows” and “Worst” high school delinquent manga franchises; Director Hinamura’s 2018 stake, DTC Yukemuri Junjo hen From High & Low, takes a break from the pulsating action and drama for a more romantic and poignant comedy drama tale.
