PURGATORY: KILL ZONE Returns Bruce Khan To The Front Lines In The Dystopian Martial Arts Action Adventure. Catch The Trailers!
JC Enterworks is making the case of late with the long-awaited return of actor and martial artist Bruce Khan in Purgatory: Kill Zone. Khan is joined on screen by Lee Chae-young (The Killer), as well as Kim Jae-hyun, Cho Sung-ha (The Suspect), Park Chul-min (The Villainess), Jo Jae-yoon (The Suspect), and Ye Soo-jung (Train To Busan).

In the near future of South Korea, where it became lawless due to an economic crisis, a new authoritarian government implements the “Permanent Exile Law” to easily control the country. According to this law, death row inmates are permanently exiled to a detention center, the Purgatory, built in abandoned nuclear power plants. With a degree of self-governance granted by the government, the Purgatory gradually reaches a point where it is beyond external control, leaving the government struggling to find a solution. Yu-seong, a police officer who became a death row inmate due to the revenge for his daughter and wife, is offered a deal by the Director of NIS. Now Yu-seong must eliminate the Purgatory Boss, the king of the center, in exchange for possible pardon.
Khan also wrote and directed the action sequences for the pic. Additionally, Khan also shares the helm with co-director Lee Hyun-myoung who produced the film for Greenfish Studio Co., Ltd.; Lee also produced past works such as The Suspect and Memoir of a Murderer, and also produced Khan’s 2019 action standout, Revenger.
Acquisitions are already in place for other territories as well, including the U.S. where a date remains pending. In the meantime, Purgatory: Kill Zone opens in South Korea on September 9, and an official trailer was released a little over a week ago, with a short promo revealed just this week.
