Yee's SWORD MASTER Flies In New Concept Art
It was late last year that producer and director Derek Yee was finally able to move forward on his long-awaited theatrical remake of director Chor Yuen’s 1977 film, Death Duel with its former title, Third Master’s Sword. This week, progress on the film’s production under Bona Film Group now goes viral in the form of recent concept art for the film now named Sword Master.
Take a look:
Based on late Hong Kong author Gu Long whose work inspired Yee‘s then-lead starpower in the original Shaw Brothers production, the story centers around a swordsman whose past catches up to him after he fakes his own death to escape the underworld. More details are needed on who will star, but this week’s concept art looks pretty reassuring, despite how some may feel about remakes. Plus, the film is also being made in 3D with producer and Hong Kong cinema auteur Tsui Hark who is also readying his next 3D martial arts war thriller, tentatively titled Tracks In The Snowy Mountains.
Release dates are pending, but hopefully we will attain some solid updates for this year. So stay tuned for more info.

The Final Trailer For X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Is Here
Following a new clip from director Bryan Singer‘s forthcoming film, X-Men: Days Of Future Past, fans were granted a viewing of the final trailer for the film ahead of its May 23 North American theatrical release. I have to say, it’s almost daunting that it’s been up to fourteen years since Singer launched this amazing franchise, ultimately putting Aussie lead actor Hugh Jackman on the Hollywood map. And with the actor appearing in all-six films in the franchise thusfar with at least two more possible films on the way, I’m pretty sure Jackman wears that badge proudly.
Several featurettes have already been aired online and are now viral as the film continues to promote through next month. Meanwhile, Singer and his team have already begun conceptualizing what may be in store for the next film, X-Men: Apocalypse, which is scheduled to arrive on May 27, 2016, prior to Jackman’s return as the titular character in the tentatively titled The Wolverine 2, slated for March 3, 2017 under director James Mangold. So, time will tell as to just how we will eventually see all of this play out. This franchise has been nothing short of epic since 2000, and as easy as it is for a lot of studios to get comic book franchises wrong, Singer‘s presence has played a significant role in helping get this one just right. Sentinels and all.
Watch the final trailer, and check out some recent character posters below.
SYNOPSIS:
The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. The beloved characters from the original “X-Men” film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from “X-Men: First Class,” in an epic battle that must change the past — to save our future.

Every Hero Has A Beginning In The Latest Promo Image For RISE OF A LEGEND!
The promo image is one of only two so far released to the public, with the first one featuring Peng going viral in one form or another as of last year insert. The actor certainly showed off his impressive physical prowess as an action-capable actor in Unbeatable, and with any luck, we will see a trailer that will offer an adequate taste of what’s in store later this year when the film is released.
Weapons Come In Handy In New Character Posters For TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES
Comic book artist and author Peter Laird has a fairly approving view of what was recently shown in the first teaser for director Jonathan Liebesman‘s new live-action CG hybrid take on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Well, it’s a lot fairer than some criticisms I have read from superfans of the original comics, but I agree there wasn’t a lot to base a huge opinion on based on the teaser since it didn’t show a whole lot.
What I am really looking forward to is a full trailer that shows us what we can expect in terms of the performamces, the action and over all delivery of the characters, including Shredder. Alas, that probably won’t be for a while longer. But the official Tumblr feed for the film does have some new posters available for the film which you can check out below featuring all four turtles and their resepective weapons.
Releasing on August 8, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles stars Pete Plozek and Danny Woodburn as Leonardo and Master Splinter, accompanied by the voices of Johnny Knoxville and Danny Shalhoub. They are joined by Alan Ritchson, Noel Fischer and Jeremy Howard as Raphael, Michelangelo and Donatello, with Megan Fox as April O’Neil and William Fichtner as The Shredder.
Paul Walker And David Belle Take On BRICK MANSIONS In A New B-Roll Featurette
Moviegoers are just a few weeks away from the release of Camille Delamarre‘s directorial debut, Brick Mansions, a redux of the 2005 French original, Banlieue 13. And this week, we are offered just a little more insight into the production with a brand new six-minute B-roll featurette and a brand new clip to get a whiff of the action that will hit the big screens in North America on April 25.
For some, the footage may be a bittersweet offering after the death of actor and philanthropist, Paul Walker, who stars opposite David Belle reprising his role from the initial film. As it stands, the film was meant to mark a new movement for the actor as a bonafide cinematic action hero following the spectacular success of Universal’s hit franchise, The Fast And The Furious. By some notable accounts, that very commitement to the job and the willingness to meet the physical demands represented more than just a great day at the office.
“The set was like a playground for Paul,” Belle says in a recent statement quoted at USA Today. “Sometimes, he would make me laugh just before a take when I was all serious and focused. I would have to get my wits together. There was always joy and fun with him.”
The director also stated his own observations of the late actor, who completely finished all post-production work on the film just days before he died. “It was a big triumph for Paul — he had never done a movie like this,” says Delamarre of Walker and Belle. “He pushed himself so hard here, and the results are better than we could have ever hoped for. They are incredible.”.
Catch Brick Mansions in theaters on April 25, 2014.
THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Gets A New Extended International TV Spot
Unless you’re an avid comic book fan or an insider, there’s no telling what plans Kevin Feige has in store over at Marvel now that plans are underway for a slate of superhero movies to come between now and 2028. With more films on the way going into Phase three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, in addition to other titles in the Spider-Man universe, one can only imagine what will come next. Personally, I’m still waiting on an R-rated Deadpool movie that Fox keeps promising. That just needs to happen, one way or another.
In the meantime, fans around the world have a new reason to gloss over the prominence of superhero summer blockbusters with director Marc Webb‘s latest contribution, The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Opening on May 2, 2014, the film stars Andrew Garfield back in uniform, along with Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan and Paul Giamatti, with an interesting, operatic soundtrack by Hans Zimmer and Pharrell Williams.
SYNOPSIS:
We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in “The Amazing Spider-Man 2,” Peter Parker finds that his greatest battle is about to begin.
It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: Oscorp.
