Marvel Announces New Dates For Nine New Films!
The on-going war for bragging rights continues as Marvel and DC continue to duke it out, toe-to-toe, neck and neck for ultimate live-action comic book TV and film glory. DC is currently in the running following its most recent productions of productions for Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, as well as the developing TV universe between current shows like Gotham, Arrow and The Flash, and upcoming teleivison properties like Titans, Supergirl and Krypton.
Of course, Marvel wasn’t going to let all that slide, especially after having just announced what it has in store for their cinematic universe at least twice in the past month. So on Tuesday, they held an epic event to shut down all epic events (at least for now), and it’s safe to say thay the fans are happy (seriously, I think one of them shit their pants – their words, true story). On that note, here it is, all nice and thick and whatnot:
May 6, 2016 was the official release date already pre-determined for the newly announced and officially-titled Captain America: Civil War, which will see title actor Chris Evans and fellow Avenger Robert Downey Jr. in front of the camera with directors Anthony Russo and Joe Russo helming. Afterward, Scott Derrickson‘s Doctor Strange was tacked for November 4, 2016 with Benedict Cumberbatch in talks to star as of Monday.
The 2017 slate would also be kicked off with the advanced May 5 announcement for director James Gunn‘s ensemble rock-and-roll space hero thriller, Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 followed by actor Chris Hemsworth‘s return in the title role of the July 28 installment of Thor: Ragnarok, with scribes Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost writing the script. Actor Chadwick Boseman‘s presence at the event also ended specualtion for his confirmation in the November 3 release of Black Panther, much to the delight of fans after the appearance of the character Ulysses Klaw in last week’s Avengers: Age Of Ultron teaser.
Blasting off the 2018 slate, Marvel then followed through with an announcement for the July 6 date for Captain Marvel, in parallel to DC’s upcoming Shazam film for which actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was confirmed to play the film’s anti-heroic villain, Black Adam last month. Moving on with the big announcements of the day were updates for the two-part third installment to the Avengers saga with Avengers: Infinity War – Parts 1 and 2 set May 4 and then May 3, 2019, respectively, with the other Vin Diesel-hopeful starrer, The Inhumans slated for a November 2, 2018 date in between; it has been reported that Marvel took an interest in bringing the Russo brothers aboard to round off the 3.4 part Avengers finale, so details on this are still pending.
New banners are now online as well to announce the releases. As usual, these films will set the course for plenty of changes to come, turning the comic book genre into a pure, rich platform for bringing spectacular saga-storytelling to the big screen as a game changer in many ways. Its what some fans have wanted over years, and the number has increased tremendously. Marvel is heeding the call, so…you’re welcome, and more to come. In the meantime, check out the banners below, and stay tuned for more footage to go viral for the May 1, 2015 release of Avengers: Age Of Ultron, directed by Joss Whedon, and director Peyton Reed‘s July 17, 2015 release of Ant-Man!

Marvel To Include An Exclusive Look At AVENGERS 2 In The GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY DVD/Blu-Ray Release!
It’s not enough to simply say that Marvel’s The Avengers: Age Of Ultron will be one of the most anticipated blockbusters to arrive next year. Nope, not since its $220 million dolllar predecessor earned $1.518 billion dollars in its total run worldwide. In essence, words fail.
Disney knows this, and in lieu of the forthcoming DVD release of director James Gunn‘s surprise summer 2014 hit, Guardians Of The Galaxy, the studio is taking the opportunity to load it with a handful of great features, including an EXCLUSIVE look at the upcoming sequel directed by Joss Whedon. The footage will be included on the DVD and Blu-Ray discs while an official teaser is expected to arrive in the coming weeks.
A third Avengers film is still embryotic at the moment while Marvel’s cinematic universe remains ever growing, and likely to still include actor Robert Downey Jr. who continually likes to tease the fans regarding his own involvement as franchise co-starring lead, Tony Stark/Iron Man. In the meantime, new installations of Marvel television shows like Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter still around to whet appetites in the months leading up to next summer. By then, well… just make sure you get your tickets early.
Marvel Studios presents Avengers: Age of Ultron, the epic follow-up to the biggest Super Hero movie of all time. When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to The Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.
Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Robert Downey Jr., who returns as Iron Man, along with Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk. Together with Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and with the additional support of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill, the team must reassemble to defeat James Spader as Ultron, a terrifying technological villain hell-bent on human extinction. Along the way, they confront two mysterious and powerful newcomers, Wanda Maximoff, played by Elizabeth Olsen, and Pietro Maximoff, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and meet an old friend in a new form when Paul Bettany becomes Vision.
Written and directed by Joss Whedon and produced by Kevin Feige, Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series The Avengers, first published in 1963. CAPTAIN AMERICA 3 To Commence Filming In Spring 2015
Captain America: The Winter Soldier, the stellar sequel to Marvel’s 2011 kick off comes home on DVD and Blu-Ray on September 9. The film is notably one of the best-received films of 2014 and with the continuation of the franchise, actor Chris Evans is expected to head down to Georgia to start filming in April next year for the May 6, 2016 release of Captain America 3 (official title pending), according to a new report from Project Casting.
Other tha the possible plot involving Captain America’s cracked shield (pictured above) which went on display for The Avengers: Age Of Ultron exhibit back in July for San Diego Comic-Con, there’s no available word yet on what the Captain America 3 plot will entail. However, one actor possibly set to return is Sebastian Stan who portrayed Bucky Barnes, a.k.a. The Winter Soldier between the first and second film.
Furthermore, in addition to the promise of a greater villain compared to the outward emergence of the NAZI death cult, H.Y.D.R.A. in the second film, there have also been “rumblings” of actor Jeremy Renner making an appearance in the film for its dated release following their upcoming reunion in the recently wrapped ensemble continuation, The Avengers: Age Of Ultron, one week earlier.
Anthony and Joe Russo are back to direct the third film, followng their work on the second, with scribes Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely writing the screenplay; Both writers are also putting their work in on the first season of ABC’s new Captain America spin-off series, Agent Carter, set for a January 2015 premiere, of which the Russo brothers will also direct the first episodes starting in October.
Stay tuned for more info.

SDCC 2014: A Little Marvel This, A Little Marvel That
⚫Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy is poised for an animated series while the upcoming August 1, 2014 release of said film will possibly see the return of Thunderbolts helmer-hopeful and Avengers 3 rumor subject, director James Gunn back in the chair for the July 18, 2017 sequel should the first film be a success. The sequel hype was also headlined with the company of Josh Brolin attached as intergalactic supervillain, Thanos.

Josh Brolin Joins Mexico Border Crime Thriller SICARO And AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON
I’m kind of a fan of former Goonie, actor Josh Brolin. No, I haven’t Spike Lee’s version of Oldboy yet, and I will, eventually. But I don’t really feel like he’s gotten his just dues as an actor, although he has earned some approval among filmgoers and film producers on the level, so much so that he was once a named candidate for the role of Bruce Wayne in the then-untitled Batman V. Superman movie.
Furthermore, I have also enjoyed seeing him on screen since appearing in films No Country For Old Men, American Gangster and Gangster Squad – films that didn’t need to rely heavily on special effects to appeal to me as opposed to just applying human talent through acting and physical performance. And it just so happens that filmgoers like myself will get to see more of that when Brolin joins the production of the upcoming crime thriller, Sicaro, from producer Basil Ilwaynk for Thunder Road Pictures, Edward McDonnell, ans also produced by the film’s financier, Black Label Media.
The film was announced at Cannes earlier this month upon North American and international pick-up by Lionsgate with Prisoners helmer Denis Villeneuve attached to direct. Brolin will be joined by actor Benecio Del Toro, with the film’s leading lady, Emily Blunt from a script written by Taylor Sheridan that centers on a law enforcement officer from Tucson, Arizona who travels to Mexico with a pair of mercenaries to track down a drug lord… Yes, my interest is pretty peaked!
Sicaro begins shooting this early June. In the meantime, action fans will be able to continue their summer blockbuster binge with Del Toro reprising his role from Thor: The Dark World as The Collector, and Marvel’s newest addition of Brolin as intergalatic villain, Thanos in the upcoming releases of Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy on August 1, 2014, followed by the May 1, 2015 release of Marvel’s The Avengers: Age Of Ultron; Blunt will appear nationwide in the critically-acclaimed upcoming North American release of Doug Liman’s new live-action manga sci-fi adventure, Edge Of Tomorrow, starting this Friday in theaters everywhere.
Keep an eye open for more updates!

And today, we also have a new character featurette for actress Scarlett Johansson who plays Black Widow which you can check out below, just above an earlier featurette for actor Chris Evans who leads in the new film.

Paul Bettany To Become The 'Vision' Of THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON
It’s been a busy month of February for developing news around Marvel’s current production of The Avengers: Age Of Ultron, with filming locations hinting at a gym in New York City, as well as locations in South Africa this month, in addition to reports that events in the preceding Captain America: The Winter Soldier will contribute to events in the new Avengers film which may or may not include Ms. Marvel. But while all other developments are being made to get the information straight, we can at least confirm one more role to be introduced in the form of Vision, to be played by Paul Bettany.
The character has a few shared origins in the Avengers canon, but it appears Marvel is going the route of the character’s creation by way of character Tony Stark’s creation of Ultron when Ultron goes rogue and hacks J.A.R.V.I.S. (Stark’s cyberbutler also voiced by Bettany in all three Iron Man films and The Avengers). As a result, we are introduced into Vision, an android with phsyical male human traits and remakable abilities Ultron uses to his advantage to try and defeat the Avengers until Vision learns the truth and teams up with Avengers against Ultron.
Bettany joins newly announced actress Elizabeth Olsen who plays Vision’s love interest, Scarlet Witch, and actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson who plays her twin brother, Quicksilver. The three are accompanied by returnung cast members Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Chris Hemsworth, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders and Iron Man 2 and 3 actor Don Cheadle, with James Spader and Thomas Kretschmann rounding out the principal cast.
The film is written and directed by Joss Whedon and opens May 1, 2015 as per its pending release slate of films within the purview of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including director James Gunn’s August 1, 2014 release of Guardians Of The Galaxy and its pending 2016 sequel, the release of Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man on July 17, 2015, and the productions of Thor 3 and Captain America 3 as well.

[UPDATED] Thomas Kretschmann To Double The Villainy In THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON
Reports are now circulating that actor Thomas Kretschmann has signed on to play another main villain known as Baron Wolfgang von Strucker in the upcoming film, Marvel’s The Avengers: Age Of Ultron. The report comes just a month after rumors circulated around the internet that the character, a H.Y.D.R.A. leader and former Nazi soldier whose body was augmented to the point of near invincibility and invulnerability would be brought on as a secondary villain with specific ties to the characters Quicksilver and Scarlett Witch, being played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olson, respectively.
The news also comes on the heels of recent updates that the film’s shooting schedule will include London, and locations in South Africa, with word that actor Mark Ruffalo‘s return as The Hulk would also be accompanied a love interest in the new film, with actor Jeremy Renner‘s character, Hawkeye, given a much larger part. Furthermore, recent reports also highlit actor, Iron Man performer Robert Downey Jr.‘s interest in bringing actor Mel Gibson and actress Jodie Foster in on the sequel’s production, whose script, written by director Joss Whedon as part of the film’s second of three phases of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was recently described as “dark” and “dry” with an “amazing one-liner, glass-cutting sense of humor.” in a recent interview with actress Scarlett Johansson who plays Black Widow in the film.
Opening nationwide on May 1, 2015, Kretschmann will star with Taylor-Johnson, Olsen, Ruffalo, Downey Jr. and Johansson returning in Marvel’s The Avengers: Age Of Ultron with actors Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Cobie Smulders and Samuel L. Jackson with and James Spader playing the titular villain. The film opens May 1, 2015 following the April 4, 2014 release of Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier, with Evans, Johansson and Jackson. Kretschmann will also appear in the forthcoming one week engagement of director Fedor Bondarchuk’s bilingual biographical World War II epic, Stalingrad 3D this February in IMAX 3D.
In other Marvel news, actor and co-star of David Ayer’s upcoming World War II thriller Fury, Michael Peña and actor Clifton Collins Jr. are reported to be officially signed for roles in director Edgar Wright’s July 31, 2015 entry into the MCU for Ant-Man with actors Paul Rudd, and the newly announced Michael Douglas. Meanwhile the recently buzzed rumors of actor Johnny Depp for the role of the otherwise confirmed Dr. Strange movie remain exactly that.
