The trailer is pretty impressive and refreshing seeing Wilson with Rothrock in action, but more importantly, there’s an action star waiting to happen in Panetierre, and he shows it quite a bit through somw of his athleticism. I wouldn’t pass this up as a hopeful introduction to a career as a rising action star if he so chooses. This could be good!

Actress, martial arts legend and International Sports Hall Of Famer Cynthia Rothrock was in Burbank, California to promote her latest family action drama, The Martial Arts Kid at Dragonfest on Sunday. Meanwhile, action fans were also able to get a glimpse of her very much more badass, bloody and not-so family-oriented all female action flick, Bitchfight, with producer and director Dean Meadows.
Although no plot details have been made available, footage arrived on Sunday in the form of a new brutal, gritty, grindhouse-style promo that was shot late last year and can now be viewed in the embed below. Billed as “old school exploitation for a new grindhouse generation”, principal photography will commense later this year in London with Rothrock joined by a supporting cast of multifaceted actresses, namely former WWE wrestler Jemma ‘Inferno’ Palmer, martial artist and stuntwoman Maria Hippolyte, model Sophia Disgrace, trainer and model Tayah Kansik and mixed martial artist Hannah Farmer.

Following the recent launch of his new Traditionz clothing line, actor, world kickboxing champion and Martial Arts Hall Of Fame inductee Don “The Dragon” Wilson is teaming up with fellow actress, martial arts champion, action cinema superstar and 2014 International Sports Hall Of Fame inductee Cynthia Rothrock to produce the debut martial arts movie for Traditionz Movie 1 LLC titled, The Martial Arts Kid. As such, the new Kickstarter launched on Monday for the film’s funding campaign showcasing a team ready to take the next step in making this latest ambitious new martial arts family drama a reality, led by producer and director Michael Baumgarten. SYNOPSIS:
When troubled teen Robbie moves to Cocoa Beach, Florida from Detroit after his grandmother has had enough of his antics, he soon realizes that everywhere he goes there is somebody who doesn’t want him to be happy… and in Cocoa Beach, that somebody is Bo Whitelaw, the toughest and most popular guy at the high school.

The film has been in the headlines for sometime now prior to its forthcoming partial filming schedule set for this summer in Florida where recent auditions held a little over a week ago, with regard to casting and audition news. The titular lead has not been announced yet, but confirmed cast names are already starting to come together, listing actors Matthew Ziff and Black Cobra star TJ Storm as the bully and his sensei who oppose the titular “kid”. Other confirmed cast members include Natasha Blasick, Tara Cardinal, Super7ven co-star Inga Van Ardenn, along with Graham Elwood, Jeff Behar, Adrienne Camille, Daniel Moncada, Sofya Skya and Vicki Vodar; The new Kickstarter page also offers a little bit more concrete information on this new film and the folks behind it, which can now be observed in the new campaign video below.

With all the buzz surrounding the upcoming LOTMA Mega Martial Arts Weekend in Pennsylvania this May, along with the waves she is making with mention of her name among others for the upcoming film, B-TEAM, action fans may be interested in legendary martial arts superstar Cynthia Rothrock‘s next film, Badass Showdown, written by Charlie Meadows and directed by cinematographer and co-producer David DeCoteau.

Action superstar Don “The Dragon” Wilson shared some new pics from the Thailand set of the upcoming Toby Russell film White Tiger, also starring Cynthia Rothrock and the late Joe Lewis, with Team Sideswipe’s own Matt Mullins in the lead, and featuring action choreography by Kazu Patrick Tang. A tweet from Mullins on January 14th suggests we might not see a trailer for a little while longer. However, keep an eye out for a trailer for another film he will star in called King Of Vajara later this year.
