Dwayne-Johnson-Wants-A-Role-In-Stallones-Expendables-Franchise-4

Stallone On Johnson For Expendables 4: "Bring It On"

August 15 will be the day that moviegoers will get to officially see the iconic who’s-who of blockbuster fanfare with the release of director Patrick Hughes’s new film, The Expendables 3. Ironically, it will also be the day that the filmmakers and studio involved will see if whether or not the film’s recent illegal leak with affect its box office earnings before ever moving forward with a fourth film. Lionsgate is suing a slate of unnamed defendants for allocating the film through torrent sites two weeks ahead of its release, while the Department Of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement has also opened up a federal investigation on the matter. It’s a clusterfuck of epic proportions, and needless to say, this all would never be an issue if a bunch of selfish bastards online didn’t steal the film. Personally, I would rather talk about the movies, and that includes the […]

Donnie Yen Unveils His Arsenal In Radius/TWC's New Release Of14 BLADES

Director Daniel Lee‘s 2010 period fantasy martial arts spectacle, 14 Blades opened to a mixed bag of reviews that were sizeably critical at the time, and some of them still are. Still, the film remained commercially successful in some parts of Asia on top of its film festival merits and nominations in the awards circuit. Now, in light of Radius/TWC is taking to its platform to officially release the film, reintroducing lead action star and genre mainstay Donnie Yen‘s star power to North American screens. SYNOPSIS: Trained in clandestine combat from childhood, the Jinyiwei were masters of the 14 Blades. Above the law and with a license to kill, they devoted their lives and lethal prowess to the service of the Emperor alone.  When the Imperial Court is taken over by evil eunuch JIA, the best of the Jinyiwei, QINGLONG is assigned to steal a list identifying those still loyal […]

STORMS OF CARNAGE: THE BLACK PANTHER UNLEASHED Will Have You Wishing It Was 1998 Again!

This probably not the version Marvel is planning for its own iteration of the Stan Lee and Jack Kirby-created Wakandan superhero, Black Panther. Regardless however, seeing as how warm fans are to Blur Studios’ own Deadpool test footage in the hopes that its owners at 20th Century Fox will grant the R-rated treatment the property deserves, a similar vision is worth considering. I could be wrong though, seeing as how soft some studios have chosen delivering films with PG-13 action that “pushes the envelope” or whatever, and it does feel disconcerting. Stephen Norrington’s Blade came out sixteen years ago and opened up a proper can of full-speed, blood-soaked whoopass that laid the early groundwork that would ultimately earn Marvel its growing popularity thanks in large part to the money it is making from its kid-friendly cinematic universe. So yeah, I get it. Making money is nice and all, sure. Nevertheless, […]

The series was announced officially back in June via press release for a ten-episode program set to air exclusively on October 8, 2014 at 9:00pm EST. for DirecTV’s Audience Channel. Hollywood Ninja Presents: BALIW CRAZY STYLE

Open to rekindle the flames of Filipino action cinema, independent filmmaker Jeff Centauri is on a mission to bring back the glory days of a genre once widely supported in his own country up until the late 1990’s and early 2000’s. They’re small steps considering it’s a zero budget affair, but each are greatly significant in contributing to what he wants to see happen for the action cinema niche in his own country. As such, he now has a new shortfilm out and available for viewing titled Baliw Crazy Style. It’s a chaming, zany comedy project with some pretty well-coordinated performances by Aiko Ashira, along with Noe Evangelista, Novie Banoy and Eulver Presto. The project is also one in several mentions in a new press release issued just twelve hours ago in Centauri‘s time zone overseas. CINEMATIC FIGHT STUDIO: One Year Later

From L to R: Neyssan Falahi, Adam Lee and Lang Yip of Cinematic Fight Studio It’s not often that I see my own news site get credited in a press release. Point in fact, I had one horror story earlier this year in which I wrote an article promoting a crowdfunder for a shortfilm thay ended up being plagiarized in not one, but two press releases. Since then, I demanded answers and a change to the content, but I never heard back from the person in charge of those press releases. Quite an unpleasant time indeed. However, this time it’s a little different. And needless to say, it feels very gratifying on several levels. It’s been almost two years since I started Film Combat Syndicate and already one group devoted to cinematic action and fight training within the past year during my time has made MANY headlines of their own. LBP Stunts Chicago Presents: MIDNIGHT RUN

I’m not too sure if this has anything to do with the classic DeNiro/Grodin 1988 road comedy of the same name, but it does carry its own weight. Stuntman and actor Bryan Sloyer is back once more indie action director and fellow stuntman Emmanuel Manzanares for the quirky new action short, Midnight Run. Sloyer is joined by fellow LBP fall guy Alex Hashioka with a guest performance by fellow stuntman and actor Vonzell Carter in a one-on-one chase that ensues a three way throwdown and a killer finish. And the improv at the end is pretty cool too! You know how this works, watch and subscribe!
