Coming in 2026 from A24 Films!
Coming in 2026 from A24 Films!
I feel like the early photo leaks ruined things a bit for Shawn Levy’s Deadpool & Wolverine. This is especially given the excitement surrounding actor Hugh Jackman’s long-awaited debut of franchise “Wolverine” donning the iconic yellow and blue hero outfit. Nonetheless, it was only a matter of time before the studio decided to reveal an official look at both Jackman and franchise main Hugh Jackman in costume, and I’d like to think the film has plenty more to offer beyond the previous photos and its first teaser from a few months ago. The official trailer now running online seems to hint at this aplenty, exploring Jackman’s return to the character long after the fatal recapituation seen in Logan. I suspect some handy surprises are abound. July 26 is the date from 20th Century Studios, so enjoy the NSFW trailer footage below ripe with nostalgic flashbacks, R-rated jabs and claws to […]
View this post on Instagram A post shared by Hugh Jackman (@thehughjackman) Marvel Studios and 20th Century Studios are officially moving forward with a third installment of the Deadpool franchise, and as of Tuesday’s announcement from star Ryan Reynolds, with the addition of Hugh Jackman back in the saddle one more time as X-Men favorite, Wolverine. The rapport between Reynolds and Jackman dates back as far as the 2009 film, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, with Jackman cameoing in a paper cutout at the tail-end of the Tim Miller’s inaugural Deadpool adaptation in 2016. David Leitch’s Deadpool 2 entrenched itself a little further into the Marvel Cinematic Universe with several more cameos of the recent X-Men cast. Shawn Levy is tapped to direct his Free Guy and The Adam Project star along with Jackman with franchise scribes Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick for a September 6, 2024 release.
Lisa Joy’s feature debut, Reminiscence, looks nothing short of signature for the work she’s contributed to television, most prominently HBO series Westworld. The official trailer is out for all to witness now and with a cast that lists Hugh Jackman as a P.I. who treads metaphysical battlefields in a story that unearths even more riddles for his own self-discovery. Nick Bannister (Hugh Jackman), a private investigator of the mind, navigates the darkly alluring world of the past by helping his clients access lost memories. Living on the fringes of the sunken Miami coast, his life is forever changed when he takes on a new client, Mae (Rebecca Ferguson). A simple matter of lost and found becomes a dangerous obsession. As Bannister fights to find the truth about Mae’s disappearance, he uncovers a violent conspiracy, and must ultimately answer the question: how far would you go to hold on to the […]
It was back in January ahead of EFM that Hugh Jackman and actress Rebecca Ferguson (The Greatest Showman) were circled for roles in the forthcoming action sci-fi, Reminiscence. It was reportedly a hot package among buyers and thus, developments this week bring word that Warner Bros. has acquired global rights to the project with principal photography commencing around late October in New Orleans and Miami. Mike Fleming Jr. who has extensively covered the film’s development at Deadline since January, states that the film aims to share that similar layered, complex tone and vision that Lisa Joy has become known for in applying her craft to the hit HBO series, Westworld, on which she serves as writer and showrunner with Kilter Films’ Jonathan Nolan. Both will produce Reminiscence which will also mark Joy’s solo directing debut from her script. Reminiscence follows one man’s journey to find the woman he loves after […]
Director James Mangold’s Spring hit, Logan, is still a thing going into May as fans await the pending one-day re-release of Logan Noir, a re-graded black and white version. May 16 is the date by when fans of the film can also expect its arrival on Digital HD a week before its planned 4K, Ultra HD and Blu-Ray release on May 23 which will also contain the aforementioned black and white version of the movie. Additionally, the Blu-Ray will be made exclusively available to Walmart consumers, and with other ample special features to accomodate the Blu-Ray package. This, as reported by THR on Tuesday includes a nine-poster set commemorating actor Hugh Jackman’s 17 year span as the famed Marvel superhero (which piece together an official poster as seen in this video), as well as commentary from Mangold for the film as well as the Blu-Ray’s deleted scenes, and the behind-the-scenes […]
You don’t usually go into a superhero movie expecting an emotionally taxing experience, but all of the promotional marketing for Logan warned us leading up to its release to expect exactly that. In Logan, James Mangold’s follow up to his notable though flawed 2013 outing The Wolverine, we’re shown a senile Professor Charles Xavier devoid of dignity and his usual poise. We’re treated to an alcoholic, time-battered Wolverine. And we’re told a story based on a comic that stands out for its bleakness. But that’s the thing, many comic book fans don’t love them for their stories, they love them for their spectacle. Logan, beg pardon, is not about spectacle. This will disappoint that group of moviegoers, I purport, the ones that couldn’t appreciate the au fait of Christopher Nolan’s run with the Batman mythology, thought Origins was better than The Wolverine, or were surprised to learn that David Cronenberg’s […]
I’m not even gonna try and sell this too much. The IMAX poster for Logan sells itself immensely in its genius and richness and with the resounding approval amid the hype, you’re probably just waiting until the release of the film… Yeah bub, I hear ya.
There’s not much I can add to how awesome this new poster for Logan looks. Next to the trailers, it’s probably the best one I’ve ever seen and speaks to the very core of actor Hugh Jackman’s portrayal of the battle-worn and weary Marvel superhero formerly known here as Wolverine, depending on who you ask. It also speaks greatly to the handling of the character since the torch was passed on to director James Mangold for the X-Men Origins: Wolverine sequel, The Wolverine, a film that still bears its share of excitement despite what some still think of its lack of adherance to the source material. From the way things look, it appears Mangold, back at the helm, is making up for that – from the trailers to the artwork, and with any luck, a film that guarantees audiences a truly memorable exit for the character if that’s the case. […]
It’s a crazy week for trailers and the latest from 20th Century Fox guarantees no exception on said craziness. For many a Marvel or X-Men fan, March 3 is already set in stone as the new movie, Logan, marks the latest from director James Mangold in the aforemention comic book franchise starring Hugh Jackman. Last year’s teaser was a humble, musical ode garnished with raw, emotional appeal driving the action as we meet our former X-Men and former, now ailing professor as they’re forced to step up and protect a mysterious girl who is more than she appears to be. That would be actress Dafne Keen thus confirmed as Logan’s long lost sib of sorts, X-23, who we also caught a tiny glimpse of in the first compelling teaser for the upcoming thriller. Well, move on up and peel your eyes open, and gaze at two brand new official trailers […]
Needless to say we’ll still be getting more official black-and-white stills stemming from the forthcoming release of James Mangold’s new film, Logan. That said, the poster and trailer side of things will be sure to color it up some and the latest poster started rolling out with international captions, and on Tuesday with an English version of it featuring actor Hugh Jackman and actress Dafne Keen. SYNOPSIS: Set in the future, Logan and Professor Charles Xavier must cope with the loss of the X-Men when a corporation led by Nathaniel Essex is destroying the world leaving it to destruction, with Logan’s healing abilities slowly fading away and Xavier’s Alzheimer’s forcing him to forget. Logan must defeat Nathaniel Essex with the help of a young girl named Laura Kinney, a female clone of Wolverine. The film, which also casts Boyd Holbrook, Stephen E. Merchant, Eriq La Salle and Sir Patrick Stewart, […]
I’m willing to bet there’s already a consensus with Marvel fans on how much many will miss actor Hugh Jackman. There’s no question that his is a portrayal of iconic comic book superhero, Logan Howlett (a.k.a. Wolverine) is one for the history books with a performance as palpable and gripping as one could ask for in an actor, and with a character who notably shares a backstory bigger than most of his fellow X-Men. It’s a story formulaic with tropes tethered to action and drama, fuelled by bitterness, self-discovery, loneliness, tumult and tragedy. Logan’s is a life ravaged by violence amid the fleeting moments of peace, born a mutant and enhanced even further by a dark science that granted him nearly-impenetrable bones and claws, regenerative healing and heightened senses. These all have benefitted him, thus are the fruits of his adapted gifts, and in parallel, are also the byline of […]
Director James Mangold’s latest, Logan, is looking more and more fierce every passing day in the last few weeks. Teaser images have been rolling out on social media host to a cast that so far reveal little about the plot while otherwise hinting at villains such as Mister Sinister and the Essex Corp, as well as The Reavers. Actor Hugh Jackman leads the film and with it, a humble farewell from the Marvel X-Men character that launched his film career to stardom for more than fifteen years within the auspices of 20th Century Fox. Also starring are Richard E. Grant and Shane Black’s recent Predator addition, actor Boyd Holbrook as Donald Pierce, along with young actress Sienna Novikov who was confirmed about a week ago as X-23, the young female clone of Wolverine. More news about the film is coming indeed, and for this, tomorrow’s inbound trailer for which a […]
Actor Hugh Jackman’s final stint as Marvel’s X-Men character, Wolverine, sees its final bow on the big screen on March 3, 2017. The film wrapped in late August and to much continued fan fervor over the film’s ambitious R-rated treatment by director James Mangold who helmed the 2013 hit, “The Wolverine”, further succeeding Jackman’s portrayal of the clawed superhero in the 20th Century Fox’s X-Men franchise. Thus, with David James Kelley providing the script, Jackman and Mangold are out and reassuring fans that the new film will present a much more different tone than of those before. And they’re doing so as of Wednesday with tweets revealing the official title via teaser poster sighting, and a peculiar photo teasing some of the film’s gruesome, brutal and violent action to come. Logan, as it is, also sees the return of actor Patrick Stewart, along with actor Eriq La Salle, and actresses […]
In all of 16 years, many of us have grown together with Aussie actor Hugh Jackman as he sliced and diced his way to Marvel fame in 20th Century Fox’s X-Men movieverse as Wolverine. Now with two spin-off films under his belt seuging from the current franchise, the latest third film is officially underway ahead of its March 3, 2017 release. Plot details are nil as usual as it’s early days with cameras now rolling – save for earlier updates on possible story details, but Collider has revealed a few things regarding recent updates on the vision and tone of the film. “…It takes place in the future, and as you and others have reported, it is an R-rated movie.” says producer Simon Kinberg. “It’s violent, it’s kind of like a western in its tone. It’s just a very cool, different film.” The news comes a little less than a […]
I think it’s fair to say that almost whenever any kind of super hero movie news makes the rounds speculating that a certain character may or may not make an appearance, the truth in the end will be the opposite. We saw it when we first heard that Robert Downey Jr. wouldn’t appear in the third installment of Captain America: Civil War before that was exact opposite was confirmed (comic book aficionados likely knew better), and now after first learning that Hugh Jackman’s longstanding X-Men role as Marvel mainstay, Wolverine, wouldn’t appear in Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Apocalypse, that all turns out to be a complete falsehood in the initial trailer tease for Monday’s third trailer release of the film which opens later next month. Sure, we don’t fully know in what capacity he’ll be in the film, but the claws at the end dictate the very fact that Jackman WILL […]
Director James Mangold’s The Wolverine was a breath of fresh air for fans unkeen on its 2009 predecessor from director Gavin Hood. Since then and with the current climate in comic book move lore now leaving room for a forthcoming R-rated extravaganza, a third installation is currently lining up for a March 3, 2017 release and so from here on will be spurts of casting news to fill the void. Bearing this in mind, leave that to sources over at Deadline who are now reporting the film’s newly cast antagonist in the form of Netflix series Narcos co-star Boyd Holbrook. The report cites his character will be an original character – “…a relentless, calculating and intense head of security for a global enterprise…”, opposite Jackman in his eighth and final stint as the iconic X-Men mainstay alongside actor Patrick Stewart in his fifth reprisal of X-Men character, Charles Xavier. David […]
Actor Hugh Jackman has come quite a long way since 2000. Sure, director Gavin Hood’s 2009 Marvel iteration, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, still remains a let down that lives on so as not to be forgotten in lieu of watching their beloved comic book staples hit the big screen. Nevertheless, a sea change was brought this month with the blockbuster success of R-rated Marvel adaption, Deadpool, thus leaving room for more properties to get the same treatment. Those expectations can finally be attributed to the forthcoming production of Jackman’s final stint in The Wolverine 3, according to Comicbook.com. The article shows an imgur post of a pamplet from this months events at Toy Fair 2016 in New York City where 20th Century Fox made their latest presentation. Take a look below with the graphic on the right listing The Wolverine helmer James Mangold, Jackman and the “R” attribution. View post on […]
Actor Hugh Jackman only has but a few years to go in Fox’s Marvel X-verse as Wolverine, so we’re left with whatever teases may come our way until then. At any rate, it’ll be fun looking ahead and observing the limitless prospects of his career with plenty of roles to look forward to, and anyone with an affinity for Greek epics and literature will surely benefit after this week. Word from The Wrap cites Lionsgate’s next move in adapting The Odyssey will be with Hunger Games franchise co-helmer Francis Lawrence and Jackman as the lead. The film is inspired by one of two ancient Western poems attributed to Homer, with a story centered on the anicent tales of Greek hero, Odysseus, on his ten-year journey home following the fall of Troy. If you’ve read or at least know of The Odyssey in some capacity, you might have some ideas in […]
If not for the fact that District 9 and Elysium helmer, South Africa’s own Neill Blomkamp was the go-to-guy at one point earlier on for an Alien film, there’s a reason why filmgoers love him. Simply put, while the former title does outweigh the latter in some areas, he’s good at what he does, and clearly it shows. Alas when you look at his latest offering in the new sci-fi thriller, Chappie, of course you might be thinking Short Circuit by way of iRobot and Robocop, and you may be right, as well in for another possible cinematic treat! SYNOPSIS: Every child comes into the world full of promise, and none more so than Chappie: he is gifted, special, a prodigy. Like any child, Chappie will come under the influence of his surroundings – some good, some bad – and he will rely on his heart and soul to find […]
