In anticipation of this Sunday’s broadcast of the official trailer for Furious 7, the production has spent the past week hitting the internet hard and heavy with a new viral social media campaign titled “The Road to Furious 7”, rolling out categorized featurettes highlighting various aspects of the epic franchise exhibited in all the films dating back to 2001. As such, Wednesday saw the release of a few videos and pictures showcasing the franchise’s explosive, bone-crunching fight sequences, with the biggest highlight being the principal fight between characters Dominic Torretto and D.S.S. Production on director James Wan‘s new film, Fast And Furious 7 remains on-going for the time being, with the pressure of delivering the biggest film of the saga. With the film nearing its way to completion, some of the actors have already filmed their scenes including actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and as of this week, actors Christopher “Ludacris” Bridges and Tyrese Gibson, to whom Wan attributed his most recent tweet for their completed work on the film. Universal Pictures is stopping at nothing to fast-track the production of Fast And Furious 7 as we are a little over a month away from seeing actors Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson reunite with its ensemble cast in the May 24 release of Fast And Furious 6. As a result, director Justin Lin, who has been with the series since the franchise’s third installment, The Fast And The Furious: Tokyo Drift, declined to helm the seventh installment, which is currently slated for an April 2014 release. Slashfilm is now reporting that director James Wan (pictured left) previously helmed Saw and Insidious is being tapped to direct the seventh installment of the franchise.
