The past several weeks have been pretty rickety with the development of the upcoming eighth installment of the Fast And Furious saga. Action star Jason Statham made headlines two years ago with producer Steve Chasman upon the announcement of their acquisition of UK crime novelist, author J.J. Connolly’s 2011 literary Layer Cake sequel Viva La Madness. Since then the plan was to adapt it for film following the first film adap in 2004 which featured Daniel Craig in the role of a nameless drug dealer whose exit from the field gets a monkey wrench tossed in with Neo-Nazis in search of missing Ecstasy and a wealthy socialite’s missing daughter. Nonetheless Glu’s latest announcement from Tuesday sure garners some appeal for fans as enticing as it may be now that they’re partnering with action hero Jason Statham. 2015 has been great to Thai action star, Tony Jaa, following his long-disputed departure from his former career base at Sahamongkol under founding film producer Somsak Techaratanaprasert (a.k.a. Sia Jiang). If there’s one thing that director Paul Feig is proving with newest action comedy, Spy, it’s the danger of underestimating a good thing. The new film starring Melissa McCarthy and action star Jason Statham has already received several upworthy reviews following its SXSW premiere earlier this month, landing this as a considerably entertaining piece of work from the Feig/McCarthy duo in lieu of their forthcoming Ghostbusters prosepcts. Hands down, this is the best trailer I’ve seen for action star Jason Statham‘s new film, Wild Card. Klock Worx is releasing the new thriller next month a few weeks after Lionsgate’s U.S. release with other territories pending, and with that in mind, while it is awesome to see the trailers we’ve seen, I think it’s safe to say they’re probably the most tame.
