Confusion And Frustration Stir As Machinima Botches STREET FIGHTER: RESURRECTION Release On Amazon Prime

Actor and filmmaker Joey Ansah is front and center this week in the wake of Machinima’s mismanged Amazon Prime release of the four-part live-action minseries, Street Fighter: Resurrection. On Tuesday, Ansah took to his fanpage on Facebook to share a fantastic alternative promotional one-sheet for the series, in addition to announcing the news pertaining to the series’s accidental upload and subsequent removal from Amazon Prime branches in the U.K., German and Japan in the wake of its North American availability this week. “Despite SFR also appearing available to view on UK, JP & DE Amazon Prime yesterday, this was in fact an upload error by Machinima/Amazon and the series has been taken down in those locations.” says Ansah. “SFR will not be available on Amazon in any country other than U.S.A.  How such an upload error is even possible on such a huge platform is beyond us. Well, I really don’t know what to think or say at this point with Machinima still stalling on granting director Joey Ansah’s hit miniseries, Street Fighter: Resurrection. The four-part endeavor premiered back in March and solely to North American audience as per the availability of mobile users downloading the go90 app and was a jewel of a showcase for fans still clamoring for more after Ansah shut 2014 down with the hit feature film/online series installation, Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist. I’ve tried finding out more about Resurrection and it’s safe to say I know about as much as the average person reading this article. This should service quite well as a promotional gem for Paramount Pictures in the good company of Akiva Goldsman and his writing team as they string together a fifth feature-length installment for a 2017 release. Speculation continues over whether or not recent signs of a season three will come through for Mortal Kombat fans who have otherwise become fond of Machinima’s online webseries since any quantitative progress on a feature film remains to be seen. As such, given we have a new game on the way next year with a batch of hot new characters, I could see how some changes would likely need to be made if writer/director Kevin Tancharoen and screenwriter Oren Uziel so chose, but again, nothing is yet known since Tancharoen unceremoniously left the Mortal Kombat frey and mysteriously popped up earlier this year. Enter Gowe's 16-Bit World Of Poetic Wonder In AURORA

Being that I’m in a musical mood lately, I felt like highlighting the latest entry into Machinima’s 2nd Annual Online Interactive Film Festival from 2nd-generation Chinese-American underground hip hop artist, Gowe, titled Aurora. Completed and aired back in February, it has all the trimmings of all the kinds of 80’s and 90’s anime and gaming fanfare being used to highlight Gowe’s message, which also apparently involves robots, lasers, supermoves, spaceflight, a girl with wings, and a 16-bit likeness of Gowe himself kicking ass, armed with a rocket launcher, and yes…explosions, of course. Good times. Follow Gowe on Twitter. In Aurora, Gowe describes the battles in his musical journey as an independent artist against his harsh critics and the conformity of mainstream entertainment. The animation pays homage to both new and old video games of the 8-bit and 16-bit eras, classic arcades, 90’s cartoons, and Japanese animé.
