We’re still a ways from Santiago Violenta helmer Ernesto Diaz Espinoza‘s latest stint with Chilean action hero, actor Marko Zaror in the bilingual revenge opus, Redeemer, following its stellar film festival run late last year. At any rate, the film is getting release in North America from MPI Media’s Dark Sky Films this summer with a date pending, and with an initial trailer already online, we now have a new poster making the rounds from the folks at XYZ Films who also produced the film. Things are quiet at the moment as post-production continues on Riccardo Gabrielli R.‘s live action comic book short film adap, Zambo Dende. Rest assured, enough time has passed that we ought to be getting closer to seeing some footage or even a trailer prior to the shortfilm’s release this year, presenting a concept that has been the making for some time now. Several character posters have been making the rounds mostly featuring our action packed line-up of villains comprising this end of the superhero universe based on the original character from Columbia-based 7gLab. The fallout hasn’t been easy to deal with for fans since the mysterious debacle behind the stifled development of Mo’ Brothers films, Timo Tjahjanto’s The Night Comes For Us, and incidentally, Kimo Stamboel’s One Good Thing, the latter for which Redeemer star, action maestro Marko Zaror (pictured left, right of Arnold Chon) was supposed to be filming about now. Gladly however, this is not at all hampering Zaror‘s career as the film could very well possibly take off once again further somewhere down the line. A little over a week ago, fans and netizens alike bared witness to the first of new character posters ahead of the forthcoming shortfilm release, Zambo Dende, a live-action take on an original 7G Comics publication from author Nicolas Rodriguez. The poster featrured Esteban Cueto in the role of hammer-wielding villain, Force, one of a quartet of known evil characters in the comic book which tells the story of Azuk, a child born into slavery in 16th century Latin America who ultimately grows up to learn where his true destiny lies. Director Ricardo Gabrielli R.‘s newest live action comic book superhero short adaptation, Zambo Dende, appears to be ready to get things rolling this week! The project has certainly proven to be one of the more promising of ones following headlines over the last few months announcing its existence with Chilean martial arts action star Marko Zaror in the title role, inspired by 7G Comics’s own Nicolas Rodriguez. A flurry of promotional pictures began circulating the web in the last few months, illustrating much of the character backdrop for this new tale centered on the story of a child who uncovers his noble roots and ultimately becomes a symbol of hope for the oppressed slaves of 16th century Latin America. Over the course of the past month or so, filming went underway for filmmaker Riccardo Gabrielli R‘s cinematic rendition of 7G Comics superhero property, Zambo Dende. A small handful of promotional pics went viral as well while those of its lead actor, martial arts action superstar Marko Zaror continue to remain a mystery for a delightful surprise to come. Well, the wait is over and the official trailer is out for director Ernesto Diaz Espinoza‘s brand new martial arts actioner and film festival favorite, Redeemer. It’s the next major step in the genre for fans who have followed Zaror‘s stellar career since breaking ground in 2006 with Kiltro and following through ever since, each showcasing Zaror‘s screenfighting prowess in electrifying fashion, and with a synopsis such as what reads after the jump, it’s a perfect setup to achieve the same. Seeing authentic, awesome martial arts action on the big screen is a dream as many of these kinds of films lately end up on the small screen. Very few make it to larger venues though, many of them which happen to be small-scale theatrical releases in some capacity. Granted, it’s a start, and can prove to be as memorable and exciting an experience when you’re in a room with the right crowd. With that in mind, the prospects of this film seem even more hopeful with the film’s reported backing from Disney, in addition to casting Chilean action star Marko Zaror for the title role just coming off of the heels with his most recent Fall 2014 festival favorite, Redeemer. Martial arts action powerhouse Marko Zaror can now be seen in a handful of new set photos from the upcoming release of his next thriller, Redeemer, courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter. The new photos arrive a little over a month after the film’s production was officially made public via press release back in late March, with Zaror in his fourth go-around with writer, co-producer and director Ernesto Diaz Espinoza since the 2006 film, Kiltro.
