PRIMAL: Nicolas Cages Hunts Both Man And Beast With Production Starting In October
If anyone needs me, I’ll be writhing in the imaginary awesomeness of that unmade Superman Lives which actor Nicolas Cage says is the greatest of its kind since it is all in our heads…or something.
VENGEANCE: A LOVE STORY: Nicolas Cage Goes Rogue In The Official Trailer
On the Fourth of July, single mother Teena is brutally assaulted by a local gang in front of her 12-year-old daughter Bethie. Despite Bethie being able to identify the attackers, the defense hires a local hot-shot defense attorney who manipulates the law to their advantage. When the criminals are set free, Gulf War veteran and detective John Dromoor (Nicolas Cage) is dismayed by the lack of justice and plots revenge against the men on Teena’s behalf.
MANDY: ‘Battle Axes And Demon Bikers’ Promised In New Nicolas Cage Revenge Actioner
Injuries aside, actor Nicolas Cage’s 211 is one I’m looking forward to catching in due time. Meanwhile, expect more on his latest attachment Mandy, which will shoot this summer in Belgium with Beyond The Black Rainbow helmer Panos Cosmatos directing.
per Deadline:
Mandy is set in the primal wilderness of 1983 where Red Miller, a broken and haunted man hunts an unhinged religious sect who slaughtered the love of his life.
“Panos is one of the most vital young filmmakers alive, a pop-culture Kubrick in the making,” said Noah, SpectreVision’s Head of Development. “Nicolas Cage is a veritable god to those of us who grew up watching his classic performances. Bringing these two together for this surrealist, heavy-metal-soaked story of battle axes and demon bikers is unfathomably exciting to us.”
Involved are producer Nate Bolotin and executive producers Todd Brown and Nick Spicer whose XYZ Films are handling worldwide sales, and producer Adrian Politowski whose Umedia is financing with Piccadily Pictures. Also producing are SpectreVision’s own Daniel Noah, Josh C. Waller and Cage’s The Trust co-star Elijah Wood, with Lisa Whalen, Martin Metz, Peter Bevan, Christopher Figg and Robert Whitehouse executive producing and Oscar-nominated composer Jóhann Jóhannsson (Sicario, Arrival) providing the score.
211: Millemium/Nu Image Crime Pic Cast Nicolas Cage
Deadline reports of Bulgarian news coverage over actor Nicolas Cage’s next film, 211, for Millenium/Nu Image. The film marks the fifth feature film apart from a spate of documentaries for director York Alex Shackleton who shared a nomination credit for Best Screenplay on William Phelps’s 2001 comedy short, Stealing Roy.
Specific plot details are nil, although the report states, 211 is the police code for “Robbery In Progress”, describing the central narrative for Cage’s role as a good cop trying to thwart a robbery. Jonathan Yunger and Jeffrey Greenstein are producing the film with Yariv Lerner, Avi Lerner, Trevor Short and Scott Karp serving as executive producers.
Production is slated for March at Nu Boyana Studios in Bulgaria. Cage recently wrapped Harold Becker’s upcoming novel adaptation, Vengeance: A Love Story, prior to finishing Rob King’s The Humanity Bureau.
