James Mark is a Ontario-based, aspiring independent martial arts action filmmaker with his own action company called Team 2x. For the past eleven years, he has also been a martial arts stunt performer for stage, film and TV, learning everything he now knows from veteran Jackie Chan stunt team member and industry action director, Bradley James Allan. James, whose current list of credits include everything from stunt performer and fight choreographer, to writer, producer, actor and director, has already begun embarking on a mission with his team to make their dreams come true, with the launch of a brand new Indiegogo campaign to help fund a unique martial arts drama titled Genetix, a production to be made in the same vein of Japanese Anime, starring his brother, Chris Mark, in the lead role.
In their campaign video, James explains how it all began, from stage and stunt performer to adhering to his passion as a full-fledged action filmmaker. James also provides an insightful testimony about the importance of the dream he shares with his team to turn this film from concept into a possible reality at the fraction of the cost it would take to make a big-budget blockbuster action movie of the same kind, especially after the success of such films as Drive (directed by Steve Wang), Never Back Down 2, Death Grip, Ong Bak and The Raid: Redemption.
In sum, Team 2X has a dream to take their knowledge of film, storytelling, martial arts, stunts and choreography to the next level, with the promise of bringing you history-making quality martial arts action cinema. And they need YOUR help to do it.
GENETIX is an action-drama following the tragic story of David Lee. At first glance David seems to be an insecure highschool student with an inferiority complex. At school he is bullied and his relationship with his girlfriend brings us to believe he is harboring pain that was brought on from a tramatic experience. One day after a photo of him is uploaded onto a social networking account, David finds himself surrounded in his classroom by a SWAT team. Overwhelmed by the stress and anxiety David’s persona is taken over and his eyes transform to the color blue. Effortlessly, David disposes of the SWAT team and escapes the school. When his eye color changes back he finds himself unable to recall the event that just occured and in a life or death situation as he is being pursued by people from his past. David must overcome whatever psychological issues he carries deep inside him in order to unveil the mysteries of his dark past.
