THE BURNOUT: Timo Tjahjanto Tapped To Direct New Action Comedy For Miramax

John Sears / WikiPortraits
Your guess is as good as mine as to whether or not director Timo Tjahjanto’s own casting prospects in a recent X post are relevant in this update. In the meantime, he’s got action comedy The Burnout on deck over at Miramax according to a new reporting from Deadline’s Matt Grobar on Monday.
…The Burnout is billed as The Big Lebowski meets Jason Bourne. In the film, a washed-up former CIA agent, now living as a carefree burnout in Ibiza, is reluctantly dragged back into action.
The Burnout was written by Tom O’Connor, with current revisions reportedly by Hunter Toro. No word yet on when this will go to camera but I’m keen, especially if it means Tjahjanto gets to direct the actors he wants here.
Tjahjanto’s next bit of work will be seen in theaters with The Beekeeper 2 in January, while he continues working on a current project for Netflix.
