The Paris Hong Kong Film Festival Returns For Its Fifth Year In November!
The 2026 edition of the Paris Hong Kong Film Festival (Festival Du Film Hongkongais De Paris) will kick off its five-day event on November 13. The festival is entering its fifth year under the stewardship of curator and founder Lok Kan Cheung through her CUBE [C³] with partner Kenneth Yeung.
Headlining this year’s festivities will be the theme, “Hong Kong: Intertwined Destinies,” which will place its focus on Hong Kong cinema in all its evolution from films of the early aughts to the present day. Par for the course of the festival, such highlights will include Herman Yau’s compelling new drama, We’re Nothing At All, which will open the festival.
The festival will also host a trio of shortfilms for its “Asian Trajectories” block that weekend. Additionally, folks attending will also get to enjoy “Behind the Action: Hong Kong Action Cinema,” a program spotlighting the works of stunt legend Stephen Tung Wai with screenings of John Woo’s A Better Tomorrow, and Wong Kar-Wai’s As Tears Go By.
Stuntwoman and filmmaker Maryline Vo will be hosting the latter program alongside film critic, journalist and documentarian Frédéric Ambroisine, who is actively serving as media partner for the festival this year through his newly launched CinéFlamme label. Festivities will kick off at the Cinéma Club de l’Étoile, followed by screenings at the Cinéma Saint-André des Arts, as announced by Ambroisine this week.
