Vin Diesel is an actor who can do whatever the f**k he wants! Well, at least that is the sentiment he expressed in a statment to L.A. Times Hero Complex columnist Amy Kaufman on Tuesday regarding his latest gig for Marvel as the voice of Groot in the upcoming film, Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy. So, in keeping consistent with his free will, Diesel is jumping on board another epic science-fiction action adventure project titled Soldiers Of The Sun.
According to exclusive updates over at
The Hollywood Reporter,
Soldiers Of The Sun will begin the effort of a new epic franchise, set in a dystopian future where a squad of soldiers set out on tour to Mexico in search of El Dorado where it has been overtaken by an alien race of “Orcs”. Diesel will star, as well as produce the film under his One Race Films banner with Samantha Vincent, along with Lorenzo DiBonaventura and scriptwriter Arash Amel, who is currently working on the Grace Kelly biopic,
Grace Of Monaco.
In the meantime, Diesel’s next film, Riddick, is almost around the corner with a September 6, 2013 release date, followed by the June 11, 2014 release that reunites him with the main cast for helmer James Wan‘s tentatively-titled Fast And Furious 7. Director James Gunn’s next film, Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy, will release on August 1, 2014.
Some comic-con footage of the ‘Guardians’ trailer leaked yesterday, which has so it has all been taken down. So, I guess we’ll just have to wait until an HD trailer has been officially released.
